avalon650
Purchased some 3rd party presets for Helix Native and there are no changes as I step through the snapshots with a mouse. Is a hardware controller necessary for the Snapshot functionality in Native?
rd2rk
IF Snapshots are configured, they should be named - unless the programmer was truly inept (you paid HOW MUCH for these mysterious presets?). You should also be able to see the assignments (beyond simple Bypass State) in the AUTOMATION/CONTROLLER ASSIGN pane.

From the Helix Native Pilot’s Guide 3.70 - page 37 ”Configure any snapshot(s) with your desired settings for the current tone within Helix Native. Then, recall any snapshot from the Snapshots menu via your DAW host’s parameter automation or via external MIDI control (MIDI CC 69—see page 59). Snapshots created and exported from Helix/HX devices (via the HX Edit application) are also sup- ported within Helix Native, and vice-versa. This all presents some extremely powerful mix capabilities in your DAW, with the ability to instantly recall and change numerous Helix Native parameter settings in real-time!” Click on the question mark icon in the lower left corner of the main window and select “Pilot’s Guide” from the menu to read a pdf of the owner’s guide. Hope this helps/makes sense.
avalon650
Thank you for the replies. My next question is can I use only a mouse to select each Snapshot in a preset? This is what I am unable to do.

This is what I am unable to do. The Helix Native UI shows the name of the active snapshot in the top bar of the window, to the right of the preset name. Click (right click?) on the Snapshot name and a pop-up menu should appear displaying the list of the other snapshot names. Select the one you want. avalon650
All I am able to do with a snapshot is have a block on or off. Adjusting parameters within the block makes every snapshot in the preset also adjust to that amount.

You need to assign the parameter to the Snapshot controller.
avalon650
Thank you. Right mouse on the parameter Controller Assign/Snapshots However, on a 3rd party vendor (JS), he has the Snapshots set only on the parameters of two parallel amps. The Snapshots are labelled Clean, Push 1, Push 2, OD 1, OD 2. Stepping through these Snapshots does nothing, None of these settings change between Clean through to OD 2. I must be missing something. silverhead
When a parameter is assigned to the Snapshots controller it appears with white brackets around it. Do those amp parameters have the brackets? If so, navigate between snapshots using the left, not right, mouse button. If not import the preset again and try the snapshots again.
avalon650
As an update, I had been using Blue Cat Audio's Axiom as a virtual pedal board. This was the problem. Loading a blank Axiom vst into a track, and then loading only Native into it, the Snapshot system doesn't work. Loading only the Native vst directly into a track (without Axiom) all is good. However, I did find that going into the Axiom Plug-in Menu and setting Preset Settings to Send Midi and deselecting Use Global Settings solved my problem. Thanks again for all the help and hopefully, someone can benefit from this.
