Topeboy
Local Junk shop. What the Hootin Heck is this one? Nice neck with clay dots. No apparent pickups but the LR Baggs transducer bridge and the standard variax selector pot but with really small electronics cavity on the rear. 2005 Any Good??? silverhead
It’s one of the pre-JTV Variax models, either a 300, 500, or 600. I can’t tell them apart but others will be able to tell you exactly which model it is. Regardless, they are all very similar and their modeling is identical. The differences are in the build. Whether it’s any ‘good’ depends on its current both physically and electronically. It looks to be in good physical shape but you would need to test the electronics. For its time the earlier Variax models were, and remain, quite good. Some still prefer the Acoustic and Spank models in those guitars to the upgraded modeling beginning with the JTV series. psarkissian
Not a 500, they don't have a tremolo bridge and the 500 bridge is a fixed on-the-deck bridge. The 600 has a lacquer back of the neck,... so it has to be a 300 Electric. Nice.
arislaf
It has tremolo, and has pickguard = 600 300 fixed bridge 500 two colors sunburst and black, no tremolo 700 tremolo and totally different body style
psarkissian
600 has a lacquer back of the neck, this one doesn't, so it has to be a 300. I have two 600's here in the lab with lacquered back of the necks. They can be hard to tell apart.

As far as I am aware, the 300 never had tremolo, as well as the 500. Neck could be scrached sand paper, for easier playability. I cut my head that this is a 600 since there is a tremolo. psarkissian
600 has a lacquered finish maple fret board, not an unfinished rosewood fret board and made in Korea. That one is made in Indonesia.
