Go to TGP (The Gear Page)>Digital and Modeling Forum, find the Helix thread and search for posts by Digital Igloo (Eric Klein).

He has stated repeatedly that there WILL be updates.

Line6 said nothing about it, except that the product will not be discontinued...

Oh, yes they have!

Follow the advice given in the post above - check The Gear Page website, or the Facebook Helix Family group.

Hope this helps/makes sense.

He also frequently reminds us that they don't publicly discuss the details of future updates.

Reading between the lines, look at the price points of the products. Helix is still in the top three modelers for both quality of sound and features.

Unless you NEED the advanced features of the Stadium products, the only reason to dump your Helix for a Stadium is that you have too much money in the bank.

The only REALLY BIG DEAL feature in Stadium is the "PROXY" capturing/profiling (COMING SOON!).

I own a ToneX and have tried NAM and, TBH, I'm underwhelmed. Not that they sound bad but faced with the choice of tweaking knobs until I get a sound I like (what we do with REAL WORLD amps) or auditioning 100,000 captures (another rabbit hole like the 100,000+ IRs I have purchased over the years), I'll keep tweaking, Thank You Very Much!

Helix will continue to sell well to players who need a great sounding modeler and would rather spend our time PLAYING MUSIC.

As to updates, I've owned mine for 10 years and never been disappointed in the updates.

If they never added another feature I wouldn't complain, but I suspect that we'll be pleasantly surprised as they continue to improve/optimize the platform in order to continue their dominance at the Helix family's price point in the market.

Interesting side note - Fractal just released a new product that looks VERY MUCH like the HX Stomp XL, at that price point.

No capturing there either.

Lots of options of scenes with variations of amps and FX, but limited to having only 4 blocks available in the signal path - eg: Overdrive/Amp/Delay/Reverb.

Who is this stuff aimed at?

Nope, not for me, they are all becoming very similar, especially all those cheapo Chinese boxes.

Likewise, the Stadium units that look like Line 6 decided to resurrect an updated version of the old Stagescape mixers and bastardise a OG Helix by gluing it on as an afterthought, along with some capture function - I will stick with the Helix floor, it will probably last another 10 years, just fine.

I don’t know if you consider the new Agoura modelling to be an advanced feature or a basic function of a Helix or Stadium device, but I can tell you there is a world of difference in the playing dynamics. The touch, feel, and responsiveness of Agoura amps is astounding.

Quite happy with Helix. Hoping that, down the road, L6 will release something like the AM4/HXSXL with Agoura amps. I MIGHT be able to afford that.

Don't need all the Stadium's bells and whistles. It's cool and all. If I win the lotto I'll jump on it in a heartbeat. In the meantime, Helix does the job for me.

I absolutely agree with you, i love my helix and i can do all i want.

Stadium is a great product, but for that price is too expensive for lot of ppl who already own an Helix.

I hope i can try the new fractal FM4, always thought it has a very nice sound, a little better compared to Helix, but too expensive.

With the range of around 1k bucket it will be placed in the same range price of helix, so it seems a good alternative if someone wanna change his gear o buy a new one.

What would be interesting, would be if helix old gear will support NAM profile, which would be a very good alternative to Agura Amp.

So let’s see what heappen in the next months!

Have a good day!
