Helix Floor 3.80 – Snapshot 1 on FS8 causes footswitch label refresh issue in Stomp Mode

Hi everyone,
I’d like to report a reproducible issue on Helix Floor running firmware 3.80 related to Snapshots used together with Stomp Mode.

Setup:

  • Helix Floor, firmware 3.80 (latest available)

  • Global Settings → Footswitches → Snapshot Mode = Manual

  • Top row footswitches FS2–FS5 assigned to stomp blocks

  • Bottom row footswitches assigned to snapshots via Command Center

Issue description:
When Snapshot 1 is assigned to FS8, the following behavior occurs:

  • Switching between Snapshot 1 and Snapshot 4 works correctly

  • Switching to Snapshot 2 or Snapshot 3 causes the label of FS8 to change back to the generic name “Snapshot”

  • At the same time, the labels and/or states of FS2–FS5 are refreshed or change unexpectedly

  • Pressing Snapshot 4 restores the correct label of Snapshot 1

This happens even with Snapshot Mode set to Manual and after saving the preset properly.

Additional observations:

  • The issue only occurs when FS8 is used for Snapshot 1

  • Assigning snapshots to FS9–FS12 instead completely avoids the problem

  • This suggests that FS8 behaves differently from the other footswitches in mixed Snapshot/Stomp configurations

Expected behavior:
Snapshot footswitch labels should remain stable and should not revert to generic names when switching snapshots, especially with Snapshot Mode set to Manual.

Conclusion:
This appears to be a firmware-related issue, not a configuration error.
Hopefully this can be investigated and addressed in a future update.

Thanks for reading,
Paolo

Please attach a copy of a preset that demonstrates this behavior.

I think I know what is happening, and it is not a bug, but I need your preset to verify.

Not a bug.  That's not a label problem.  Helix Command Center allows your layout to completely change when you press one button in pedalboard mode, whatever you set up.  If you have "10 button stomp" enabled, you have 10 custom layouts at your disposal.  When you press one of the buttons in pedalboard mode, the rest of them can be completely repositioned -- snapshots/stomps/preset up all of them can be placed in a completely different place.  You can even have multiple presets that connect to one-another via these buttons.  It can be confusing, but is extremely flexible.  I never ever have the need to change my layout based on a single button press, so when I use Command Center, I re-save the same identical layout multiple times.

You need to go into HX Edit, Command Center, and go through all the 10 buttons and make sure the correct snapshot/stomp is displayed.  Press first button, go through all the 9 remaining buttons to make sure that their action is correct, save.  Then press the second button, etc.  So you need to do this 10 times potentially for each of the remaining buttons.  So something like 100 updates :) Have fun.
