V 1.3 - still no fix for the WiFi issues

Hi all,

I know from the Release Notes that the WiFi connection issue was not listed - naive as I am I hoped for some improvement anyway. And I know that priorities may seems to be different for a user but this connection problem has been annoying me from the start.

I cannot dial in a sound without being forced to restart the app 2-3 times let alone being not able to transfer songs (up to now the connection was never long enough to transfer a song).. It is really a prio 1 bug (for me at least)..

Besides this I am really excited about the Stadium!

BR,

Christian

Hello!

I hear your frustration, Christian. The WiFi connection bug clearly impacts core functionality—having to restart the app multiple times just to dial in a sound or being unable to transfer songs is disruptive, especially when it’s been present from the start. Even if it wasn’t listed in the release notes, it’s fair to expect improvement, and calling it a “prio 1” issue makes sense from a user perspective. Hopefully the developers will prioritize servicechannel stability fixes soon, because the Stadium feature sounds exciting, but it’s hard to enjoy new additions when the basics aren’t reliable.

Mu understanding is that there are certain compatibility requirements regarding the home/local WiFi router. Here are a couple of posts. There may be other information here; do some searching. Perhaps one of them may pinpoint a local issue for you. Also, open a support ticket to see if you can get it resolved.

This is not to say that Line 6 shouldn't be working on resolving these issue with updates; just that there may be a workaround or solution for you.

My practice space is fairly far from the router. I have decent internet connection but my helix stadium xl is very glitchy. Please make it so I can use the app without wifi and use USB. So many times I am editing or loading a song and it crashes. The App is almost unusable in my situation.

This is the cost of being on the bleeding edge. I understand, but it is frustrating. I've played with settings in my router, using only one or the other frequency bands, binding a specific IP address to my stadium; no luck. I'm not willing to try the AP-only trick with my setup or buy another router to use this way, as this will certainly be resolved in the future; either the wifi issue will be fixed or USB connection will become available. For now, I'm gonna go get a long enough ethernet cable and try that.

But this should be made a high priority; ease of use is high on the list of selling points, and this is...not that.

I'd be really interested to hear the results of that. Please report back.

No good with the ethernet adapter I have. It didn't connect to the network at all. I'll grab another one to test with, but may not be until Monday.

Just in case you made the mistake I did (of not reading the manual): but I bought/tried a USB-C ethernet adapter, but it has to be a USB-A one.   I got one of those and it worked perfectly.

It works for me with an adapter using the AX88179 chipset.

Specifically, it's this one:
UGREEN LAN Adapter 1000 Mbps USB Ethernet Adapter USB-A to RJ45

It's an USB-A Adapter not USB-C

It was, but thanks for the heads up.

Well, I "fixed" my issue by using another router. I forgot my partner still had the old one we stopped using when she upgraded to fibre internet last year.

Her Linksys EA7500 works perfectly - no drops after 3 hours. My ASUS RT-AC68U was...dodgy.
