jk121960
Hi new to line 6 amps, I notices a considerable difference in price between the spider valve tube amps and the dt series of tube amps and I wanted to know, what the difference between them is that accounts for the difference in price.thanks for any help with this
spaceatl
DT amplifiers are class switching. They can change from Class A to Class AB. The SV and a Class AB amplifier. In order for the DT amplifier to support both classes, it has much larger transformers than the SV does. Lots of internal high voltage relays to support this...It also switches between pentode and triode modes...This is all analog switching in the power section...Simply put, big transformers and high voltage analog switching make it more expensive. jk121960
Sorry one more question, on the dt series what is the triode and pentode options for?
radatats
triode and pentode refers to the way the tubes operate. In simple terms its like a three stage (triode) tube vs a five stage (pentode) tube. pentode is more powerful than triode.
