  1. Yep, i agree... I get this soundbleed even when nothing is plugged in the loop with the loop on, it is dead quiet on the clean channel when loop on, even volume on full, but not on the crunch and lead channels with the loop on,and the sound gets louder as I turn up the volume, does not help to turn the volume all the way down, i can still hear some sound coming from the cabinet.... (Helix is totally disconnected, just my gitar plugged in the amp) If this is not the case with your amp, it’s working as it should, and mine does certainly have a faulty FX loop... Thanks
  2. Thanks for the reply, it’s definitely something wrong with the amp because with nothing plugged in the effectloop of the amp it still have this issue, have contacted Thomann were I bought it and they have contacted Hughes&Kettner directly ,and this was the answer they got from them: "It can reproduce this behavior but it is not considered as a fault – because you normally switch the fx-loop off when it is not used" Of coarse it’s not a problem when nothing plugged in and loop off, but the problem starts when i connect my Helix to the loop of the amp as i have told them from the very beginning, the soundbleed is still present. Thomann can not help me with this since H&K tells them that this is not a fault, so i’m thankful to hear other users experience about this amps effectloop before i contact H&K myself.... Thanks...
  3. Maybe not the right forum for discussing this but hope someone can help. My Hughes&Kettner TubeMeister 40 deluxe have some soundbleed when the effectloop is activated, nothing on my clean channel but both crunch and lead channels. Thing is that when connecting my Helix in 4cm mode with this amp some of the sound is going directly to the speakers when the loop is activated, and since digital gear have some latency there will be this unpleasant phasing effect.... isn’t the effectloop 100% serial on these amps? Just curious if there’s anyone that have experienced this with these amps?
  4. The Helix platform still have alot of power for new effects and improvements, so i think there will be a while untill we see a new Flagship.... when we do, what will be new? I personally haven’t yet used all of its potensial so other than updating firmware from time to time i will not be in any need for a new unit, wanting one is a another question......
  5. Improvement of the amps/cabs thats already in Helix, better cabs in general along with the new reverbs......
  6. Would like to see a Carvin legacy amp-model in Helix, i don´t know if there are a big request for signature amps but i personally think this amp is wonderful in every way, and since Carvin have closed their doors now, i might buy this amp, but would have been great and alot easier if Line 6 could make a model of this!
  7. If we are talking about the MOST important thing in guitarsound i agree, but disagree about the verbs. A very good reverb vs a ok one will have a huge impact imo, not only in sound but your creativity as a guitarist, we all know what good reverb can do to a guitarsound!! ex. the Mercury 7, and those other big ones! Even a "cheap" Boss RV5/6 have some better verbs than the ones in Helix, at least for me! Don't get me wrong the verbs in Helix are fine, but would love to see some new ones and belive they are coming and think they will be awesome!
  8. Improved stock cabs and new reverbs, two things that have huge impact in guitar sound? If Meris Mercury 7 is that "one to beat" it will be very good news if you try to reach for that at L6.
  9. I'm glad that that we can use cab ir's, if not this unit would be totally useless for me, can't understand why L6 not hearing this since their amps are of a another leauge, improving the stock cabs, and reverbs will make this the best all in one unit out there,(at least for me) because this is the weakest link in this unit!
  10. Since the reverbs are from the HD series, and not more than usable, i'll think this would be on top of their list of improvements and hope to see some new ones in the next update!!
  11. Amen to this, new and improved reverbs please!!!
  12. I have both units and all in all i prefer my Helix, better clean tones and sooo much easier to use, just an amazing unit! At first i was a bit dissapointed, but as mentioned erlyer in this thread, you have to make it personal/making you're own sound! Have own mine for five months now and it has all that i need, well done Line 6 and looking forward for new updates!
  13. You're absolutely right, never tought about that and i'll guess the loop in series is the only way to go to avoid an eventual phasing effect! I could of course use a pedal for splitting the signal and use them seperately and not in parallel......, maybe i was wishing for too much?? Anyways, thanks all for your input!
  14. I was thinking to run that with my Kemper into my Alto's, and since the Alto's have a second input i would like to run both in parallel without too much "side effects". I know i could use a line selector pedal for splitting, but that would add one more pedal on the pedalboard and an another switch to tap, not a big problem, but i was hoping for less tapdance and moonwalk! Thanks!
  15. Many thanks for your response and i'll guess you are right, i might think it must have some kind of switching relay in it for keeping the signal in the analog domain! The only "difference" i try to avoid is the little delay from the converters creating the phasing effect when running Helix and a another unit in parallel, same goes for the effectloop when run in parallel. I'll guess i will have to run everything in series to avoid this or use the s/pdif connections if i should have two digital units in parallel!
  16. I would like to split the analog input/guitarsignal in the Helix and send it to another unit, but does this signal goes thru the AD/DA converters when i place the sendblock first in the chain, or is this digital convertion already taking place before all the blocks?
  17. Well, i agree with danadstudios about this, when i plug my Helix into my Kemper the guitar tones really comes to life when use of the Kempers reverb and effects, the same goes to the cab sims.
  18. Thanks for the response, i'm new to Helix and now see that it has a global EQ like my Kemper, and that solves that problem for my setup, sounds a lot better now!

    Dull ampmodels

Why does some ampmodels sound dull/dark while others are clear and nice when using Helix with a poweramp (class D) and cabinet? sounds like having some cabsim on! Nor does treble and presence bring it out from the dark, and even use of EQ does not make up for this! The Pv panama and German mahadeva has most of this effect! I'm using the amp preset with poweramp simulation in Helix!
