That’s where i am going wrong. I will try the Restore From Backup I really appreciate the reply. Ill let you know if this fixes it
-
Update went great, did everything according to the instructions, but, When i went into import , to restore my backup, for some reason it wasn’t showing the files, i finally found them, but I cant open them. Anyone having this issue ? I was going to start from scratch anyway, but there were certain presets i wanted to clone , and of course re importing Ir’s is easy enough, but just curios if this happened to anyone else ?

I am not sure there is an input pad. Assuming your amp is not defective, have you looked at the output as far as both guitar and overall are set ? If everything looks good, do you have the ability to plug in external monitors or headphones to see if this is happening thru that signal ? Just trying to rule things out. How about a complete reset to the amp ? Maybe that will clear it up. If not, I would call line 6 and see what they think, maybe they can give you some suggestions. Hopefully it doesn't have to go back , it is one heavy beast as you know. Good luck and hope you get it resolved

I am not sure if this will help because I have a kemper , and I do this at times. I owned an axe fx 2 a few years ago and I believe you can do the same thing I have the XLR's main out , from kemper , going into the monitor ins on the FH1500 there're is a setting that has reverb and delay only. Then I have my 1/4 out or "send" from the kemper ( have to look at it again, can't remember ) going to the guitar input of the FH1500. I have this set to "Stack only" so it's just the dry portion going thru that signal. And I can adjust the wet effects volume with one knob on the kemper and another for the dry and mix. As mentioned, don't need a lot of signal this way, but I am not gigging so take that into consideration. I am pretty sure you can set up the axe fx similar , at minimum you can utilize the send routing . If you go to the fractal forums, you will probably get an answer within minutes. But have not been doing the WDW lately, I have really been using it as an frfr cab with my 1/4 inch out from the kemper or the helix , and going directly to the input of the FH1500 and it sounds great. Of course I am not using it to its full capacity , but sometimes I just want to plug straight in and just go .

I really like the FBV 3 as its plug n play . I have not tried the spider 240 yet. I would like to try one out. I also have a mustang 3 v2. Great little amp. Just a few thoughts , To keep in mind, the Firehawk 1500 is one heavy Amp. Also I understand that Some people are reporting hissing when it's turned up at gig levels. I don't gig , I do turn it up loud , but not gig levels. I also use the amp as a cab frfr for my modelers , I really like it , but I don't like the weight. Lol.

Don't mean to confuse anyone, but you plug in the base receiver(that also charges the transmitter ) into the Firehawk or whatever device you want to use. And the transmitter into the guitar , and you have wireless. I was just making a point that even though the Firehawk 1500 does not have the receiver / charger built in like it does on the spider , you can still use it, but yo must have the full kit as you would use it for any product. I think we are saying the same thing , just I may have worded my original post a bit blurry

Just for clarification, You can use the GT10 wireless with the Firehawk, but it won't charge the device, you need the GT base to do that.

Firehawk not booting every time after 1.02 update
jerryratpack replied to hallonemusic's topic in Firehawk 1500
I have not had this issue, but I would do a factory reset. Is your FBV3 connected when you power up ? Not that should matter, Just trying to rule everything out. Also, maybe your power cord is faulty . It's a heavy amp to have to send out for replacement or repair. I hope you get it sorted. Definitley put a call or open a ticket into line 6 support. -
There are 4 inputs I have tried . Return, 2 monitor ins, and the main input on the FH1500. I have not tried every combination , but I have a kemper and a helix. They both sound great thru the FH1500. And specifically , I have been running my kemper with the direct out on set to "Stack" that goes into the return on the FH1500 and the kemper mains out set on "delay and reverb" , and that goes to the two monitor inputs on the FH1500 , and it sounds really great. I had to adjust the levels a little bit out of the kemper so the delay and reverb didn't over take the stack, but once I even them out, it sounded great. I did notice with the helix to the monitors in only, it was a little dull, but I didn't go back and adjust anything, I believe there is a gain knob back there ? But when I connected three inputs, both the monitor inputs and the left out from helix to the main input of the FH1500, it sounded really good. I was not aware of issues with the speakers. Is this wide spread or effecting only a few ? But the amp I have sounds great, I am really enjoying it with the modelers , especially the kemper. I can get good tones with the amp only, but nothing compared to my kemper and using the fh1500 as a cab so to speak.

I forgot I wrote this . Lol Since then, I have really been using the FH1500 a lot and really like it. I am not used to the single button looper and would prefer the FBV3 footswitch to have a looper mode where there are multiple buttons appear for start, stop, reverse, etc. but I have been using the looper for practice and got used to it. My original gripe about the effects chain is no longer an issue for me as I got used to which effects I can change and what I can move around. The FH1500 is really a great sounding amp, but I have been using it more with the helix and kemper as a cab. This plays to the strengths with the wet dry wet setup . You just have to adjust levels which is easy to do from the app. The app is Bluetooth , and it has worked flawlessly with my iPad. It's really convenient not being tied to a cable or laptop and able to tweak at will. I have recently been using it with kemper and setting the "direct out" from kemper to the FH 1500 return . I set the direct out for "stack"from my kemper. This way it uses the 12inch speaker and horn, and the two mains from the kemper set to delay and reverb , and that goes to the two monitor ins on the FH1500 so it is giving me the wet dry wet effect.it sounds great onc you adjust the main and direct to taste. I just learned this from one of the kemper users. I will tell you that the amp is very heavy , so if you are going to take it to gigs, you want to consider the rolling carrying case. Mine stays put so I don't have this problem.

I did update mine over the iPad and also via updater with laptop My laptop with the updater did not see the Firehawk 1500 , but I then went to line 6 and downloaded the latest Firehawk drivers and then the line 6 updater saw my Firehawk 1500 and was able to update it that way . I can't remember if it was drivers in general or specific to the Firehawk . Hope you get it sorted

I am not sure if I have a defect, or user error , but a couple observations so far There is a lot I like about this amp, but, I am very surprised that there is this limitation on the effects chain. This is almost 1000 US dollars and can't move certain effects to where we would like. Again, unless I am doing something wrong or my app is screwed up This is a big nagative for me personally. I honestly thought there was something wrong with my app on my iPad, many limitations on something this expensive . But it was reinstalled and same behaviour. Also the looper surprised me , it is unusable as far as I can tell. Or it's very unintuitive. I own the helix, kemper, boss 100 and all dead simple to use the looper. I have the new FBV 3 and to my surprise, there is not looper mode so to speak. I hit the function switch , which would be logical to do, and it says "quit App" so again, It's a very hard to use one switch design, really surprised me, unless I am missing something or doing something wrong. I can't find documentation on how to use it, but I think I figured it out, and if I am correct it's really bad. Any suggestions ?

Edit; I thought this was he FH 1500 thread.. But I guess it applies here too. There is a lot I like about this amp, but, I too am very surprised that there is this limitation on the effects chain. Hey Pier M Thanks for the info. I am not trying to prove you wrong, as I am in the evaluation period , and want to try as many settings as I can and various scenarios . This way I can decide if I am keeping it. It's so heavy, that I don't want to go thru the hassle of returning this beast. I will try this out tomorrow. i did do this before , when I was just testing it out in general , when I first got it, except I am not sure where my monitor gain setting was. it really was very loud in the room, But, I am not sure what the FH Amp volume setting was at. Also, what setting is your helix XLR out ? I honestly hope I can't reproduce it , LOL.. Hiss is not good. But at least on all my tests so far, the way I would use it, I have not had a hiss issue. But I also am not at gig level. However, I am at a very loud volume. So maybe it needs to be turned up more to get the hiss ? In that case I would be ok, because I can't turn it up anymore with out being too loud in my music room. -
Using Firehawk 1500 with Positive Grid Bias Fx or Amplitube
jerryratpack replied to i4eneco's topic in Firehawk 1500
I have not had a chance to run bias thru the FH 1500 yet, but, I did run my helix thru in two different congiurations. The first was running my 1/4 out from helix to FH guitar input , and two helix XLR outs to the two Monitor in's on the FH ( did not have XLR out from FH connected, and the amp sounded great. I was pleasantly surprised it sounded that good. I then connected the 1/4 out from helix to the FH guitar input, but didn't use the Monitors in. But in the case, I ran the XLR outs from the FH 1500 to a pair of Monitors, and again sounded great and huge. In both cases I did not get hiss that I was aware of. I want to go back and explore this just to make sure , because I do use gains on lead notes and rhythm and have not detected this. In both cases I did have to find the balance between guitar and overall volume, once I did that, I saved the preset as helix in my tones and it seems to work great. So not sure if this is on ceratin. FH units or I am not detecting this with mine. I will definitley double check this to make sure I am not getting hiss. This part probably belongs in the review section, but... On a side note, My issue is the looper on the amp itself using as stand alone with the FBV 3 . It's opposite of the helix. They should of had a looper mode in the pedal set up like the helix. This one button thing is hard for me to work. Couldn't get a good loop going. I am sure it's user error, but that's my point. It's hard to go wrong with the looper in the helix. -
I am having the same issue. I reloaded the firmware and it still shows green on the overdriven, Dist comps etc. line 6 suggested taking it to a store that has a spider V , and seeing if it still has that same behavior . This way they know if it is the floorboard or the amp is sending the wrong color code. I have not had a chance to do this yet. I do know that it is choosing the correct stomp , so that's a relief
-
Thanks spikes, It did take awhile over Bluetooth , and the update took with no issues. It was a good idea from the line 6 designers to incorporate the ability for updates from within the app. A separate issue with my FBV 3 regarding the lights were green for drives when they should green be only for delays, line 6 suggested redoing the update on both. but after i realized my drivers needed to be updated ( only because line 6 updater did not see my FH 1500. ) I redid the update over USB and it went fairly quickly, I have read some people waiting long time for the update to complete though. But I am on the latest firmware so no issues there. Now The only thing I need to do now, is to take the FBV 3 and connect to a new spider V at a store, (line. 6 suggested this as this will determine if it's the floor or the FH 1500 sending wrong info ) to see if the lights correspond to the correct effects. It's not affecting the effects themselves, it still chooses the correct drive , comp, only the indicator lights are green, in which Orange is the color it's having a problem with. It does show blue for mods and pinkish for synths, etc. bottom row is showing reds for indicating which patch I am on.

Using Firehawk 1500 with Positive Grid Bias Fx or Amplitube
jerryratpack replied to i4eneco's topic in Firehawk 1500
I bought this mainly for its own tones ( depending on how good they were ) and to run the helix into. But I also thought about trying the software sims thru the FH just to see what it would sound like. I have not done it yet. Might do it later just to try it out. If not sometime during the week if I have time. -
Can you pan something all the way to the one side ? Maybe you will be able to tell , but I just tried the ping and it's coming from all over, hard to pinpoint .
-
Try the Facebook site with chad Boston. They have a crew over there that knows all about the helix and the Firehawk 1500. I just got mine the other day , so it's all new to me. Still learning my way around it. https://www.facebook.com/groups/line6firehawk1500/

I posted this in another thread by accident. Received my Firehawk 1500 yesterday . Only had about nan hour with it as I had to update and learn some basics . Over the next three days I will be digging in further. Will try the helix two XLR outs into the two FH monitor ins and the 1/4 helix out to the guitar input of the FH and see how that works for me as well. But that might not be for a few days as I really want to get my Firehawk tones created and saved without the helix first as I want to use this amp independently as well as try it out as an frfr cab. I found one preset with the tread plate HD I believe and really liked it. So I tweaked it and moved some things abounds, used it More for lead playing notes, reduced some gains and other tweaks, but so far that is the only one I made as my own preset so far. Obviously there are a ton of amps and going to be awhile before I can scratch the surface. A few things up front within my limited experience: My FBV 3 seems to have all greenish colors except for mod. My stomps, reverbs, seem to be green like the delays. Anyway to change this ? Also, my laptop did not recognize the amp. Line 6 updater doesn't show it in the window, I had to update via app. (Thank goodness for that feature ) EDIT, I DOWNLOADED THE LATEST DRIVER AND IT SHOWS UP NOW IN BOTH LINE 6 updater and in my computer. FIXED see above ... However, the same USB cord and port, instantly recognized the FBV for upgrading . So right now, my FH is not showing as an audio interface. I might reset the amp to factory default and see what happens. I didn't hear difference with mono, stereo and wide stero settings, maybe I am doing something wrong ? from the amp, so not sure if it was just the patch or if this actually has little effect on amp and more effect on the outs to PA ? It looks like it came in perfect shape. Have not inspected it 100% yet in full lighting, but I didn't have the panel board glue issues and it seems that everything physically is in perfect shape, thankfully . Fixed now More thoughts and maybe recording direct if I can get it to be recongnised as interface. I can record via out to my focusrite 2i4, but I want this thing to work as an interface and record direct that way as it should be able to. Fixed and works fine I hope I don't have a bad USB on the FH side. Will try a reset and another laptop just to see Any suggestions would be appreciated Thanks Jerry

Thanks for your review . I know it's frustrating when spending the amount this amplifier costs, finding build quality issues like that is unfortunate. I have a helix and the build quality is exceptional in my view. So I really am surprised to hear this QC and hopefully isn't the normal , maybe this one somehow slipped under the radar. But I certainly would be very disappointed if mine shows up like this. And I think your critique is more than fair considering you are justifiably dissapointed and I would think angry. I mean for grand, this should not have left the factory in this condition. I should be receiving it tomorrow (Thursday) although the ups tracking is suspect and not sure what is going on , but it is scheduled for tomorrow delivery . But that's another issue and nothing to do with line 6. On the upside I understand this amp sounds very good. I am wondering if you can share your thoughts on the mid to higher gain sounds. More of lead notes , and not necessarily chug style. Well, I hope to have a positive experience with this amp as it has many features I like and hope it lives up to my expectations. I will post my thoughts once I have it for a few weeks as well.

I was thinking the same, but also would like to use it as it is . I want to buy the new fbv footswitch if I do get the Firehawk 1500
