  1. One update. I wanted to thank everyone for their comments and thoughts. As I said before, I am not advocating to abandon the current technology but more rhetorically wondered when/if the hardware will expand to use the software even more. thanks for the info on native. Changed the setting and whole new world opened! I have made some pretty insane multiband processing. I will say I now know the limits of Helix floor and the possibility and I am even more hopefully for a potential expansion but for now keep on rocking!
  2. I noticed this setting the other day before I posted. I honestly did not see an off but I looked quickly. It is definitely set to Helix right now. That is what got me a bit frustrated. I had a delay, verb and two instances of Ventoux. No cabs. Thank for the info, I will def go home and see if I can turn it off. My CPU can more than handle it. I have been running multiple dozens of instances of Helix at a time. Totally Agree. I am not advocating to sunset the helix. It would totally isolate the entire community, more wondering if there will be an incremental upgrade. Much like Fractal where everything is the same but as the hardware upgrades you can better take advantage of new presets. All in all - this was more of a rhetorical questions/rant. I will continue to wait patiently because I really do appreciate all the upgrades we have been getting!
  3. Maybe that is what I am getting at more than anything else. That was my thought. There is clearly a lot of investment in the current technology. Abandoning it would be a poor decision. I do not need to move to the full Helix yet, but I will one day.
  4. Long time line 6 user. I have an hx stomp for noodling/simple rig and hx effects for live rigs with a few different amps. Right now I mostly use helix native for recording. All these new updates are amazing and I really hope line 6 continues the updates. I am pumped that all product line are getting the upgrades. I’m noticing that the newer models/verbs/delays are getting more resource intensive. Occasionally I am getting limited on block in helix native. My stomp I keep simple but I don’t always get a chance to full explore and my hxfx is usually ok with the way I set up. anyways - to my question. Over the years I find myself less reliant on other pedal and even my tube amps. I feel like it is time to just bite the bullet, sell it all and just go with a full helix. with all the updates it makes me wonder what line 6’s plans are. It wouldn’t make sense to develop a whole new line since the models are already excellent. At the same time, they haven’t introduced a new flagship in awhile.
  5. I was wondering the same thing. Especially at this price point, I am super interested in using it as a powered cab. Just based on what I can find I think I have an idea of what the difference might be. based on the ins and outs it should work well. I guess it will depend on where you want to do your models. totally speculative. power cab is FRFR so it will be much more geared towards using your own IRs. It also has it’s own speaker models. This feature, as line 6 states, is more amp in the room feel. As opposed to the ir that captures both cabinets, mic, mic placement and mixes. the catalyst is an actual guitar speaker in a cab. It is a true amp. So pros of the power cab - better for IRs - flexibility with speaker options to get a variety of options - but expensive and still a model of a speaker (if that even matters) pros of catalyst - true authentic speaker/cab experience - much more affordable - but not as flexible only other thing I can think of is that the power cab 2x12 is marketed as stereo. The catalyst onboard effects are stereo but I haven’t been able to find out if the effects return is stereo. that being said stereo on a rig is debatable. I personally enjoy it when playing but I think the effect is lost on an audience.
  6. yes, This would the correct way. Or at least that is what I would do. Essentially hook up the V4 like it is a preamp of a regular amp First, no need to be like that your coming off really condescending and judgemental. second, who cares what he wants to do . It is his rig. He didn’t ask for your comments on that. Finally, I can think of a many reasons why I would want to do this. Maybe he wants the compact rig of the stomp but wants to have a high gain but prefers the full warmth of the clean tube most of the time. Maybe he doesn’t need all the switch’s the HX effects has and might as well get the amp models with the HX stomp. Maybe he wants an audio interface with amp sims for recording but doesn’t want to spend a ton on the helix and doesn’t want to buy an HXFX and a stomp.
  7. I saw a notification earlier this morning and it looks like all the sites are coming down. the little bit of information looks like it is a full featured Helix Amps and Models but in a small compact size (smaller than the HX effects). Best I can see is a 599 price. https://www.americanmusical.com/Item--i-LIN-HXSTOMP?src=Y0802G00SRCHCAPN&adpos=1o6&scid=scplpLIN+HXSTOMP&sc_intid=LIN+HXSTOMP&gclid=Cj0KCQjw9NbdBRCwARIsAPLsnFZiqOBFGADY6EztEJsGEK_Mi4hLD8b0TWDE1Kd1pCtNYCHFvTrBDe8aAl1hEALw_wcB https://www.theguitarmagazine.com/news/line-6-hx-stomp/
  8. Dude- Chill. I appreciate your patience, man. There are some quite a few entitled people out there. I am super pumped about the new update. I am happy it took a little longer and we got a ton of bug fixes and some pretty cool updates. Honestly- Line 6 is going above and beyond compared to past releases. I really hope they continue this effort and bringing us these really quality models on a semi-frequent basis. These dirt pedals have made most of my pedal board obsolete. I can't wait to check out the range mast and DS1
  9. For the HD500 I got latency super low. 8 or so msec. I set the bufferlower and the sample rate to 96000. Works like a charm.
  10. Not the tonedirect that I can tell. You only get the VST so you need a DAW or something similar. You can use reaper for free. I can get latency down to about 10 msec so it feels fine
