  1. HxEdit for iPad would be a great upgrade for the Helix as it would affectively give the Helix a touch interface. Many (YouTube) have suggested that not having a tough interface dates the Helix compared to other top modelers. Well to my mind, an iPad running HxEdit would be the perfect touch interface. Line6, please consider this. It may soon become necessary regardless as I believe that Apple will unify operating systems for Mac and iPad now that both use the same Apple processors.
  2. I would think that the aim would be to use HXEdit via WIFI not Bluetooth for editing/creating presets and so there wouldn't be any latency issues. It shouldn't be too difficult for Line6 to mod the firmware to connect to a suitable USB wifi dongle and HxEdit driver to connect to Helix via wifi. If using Helix as an audio interface then hard wired is the only sensible way. I don't know of any quality audio interfaces that use wifi/bluetooth to send audio to a DAW.
  3. Thanks for your reply. Yes I do know how to change the footswitch LED colour but it appears that only the LED colours can be changes where I wanted to change the screen Snapshot background rectangle/text colours. Just like the Stomp mode screen reflects the block/switch colour. Cheers, Luke
  4. Hi All, I have a Helix LT and I was wondering if it is possible to assign colours to Snapshots to follow the footswitch LED colours? Thanks.
  5. Hi, I had this issue when I tried to update when I first got my Helix LT. I was using a Windows 10 PC and HX Edit and it was unable to see my Helix. Anyway to cut a long story short I ended up downloading the Line6 Updater and that was able to get things going again. I now use a MacBook Pro and HX Edit to update and it has worked perfectly the last two updates. HX Edit must be the same version as the new firmware (3.15) Hope this helps.
  6. I have two Headrush FRFR112s and when I bought the first one I had it on the floor and it sounded terrible. Bassy and muddy as you described. I was using a Headrush Pedalboard. I lifted it off the floor (small speaker stand about 1M, and wow it came to life and sounds just great. I then bought the second one for stereo and they sound fantastic with my Fender Strat, Tele and Gibson Les Paul. Acoustic guitar. I have played several gigs with these combined with a Fender SuperSonic 22 and I just love the sound I'm getting. Now I just got the Helix LT one day ago but I'm sure that it too will sound great when I get it worked out. Hope this helps. Cheers, All
  7. I only had it one day. All good now. Thanks to all
  8. I tried to update with HxEdit as I read in the user manual. It seemed to started out ok but about 35% through the update process my Win10 PC crashed? I'm thinking there's an issue with HxEdit software on Win10 Then Helix LT would fail during booting and enter update mode. Tried everything and nothing worked. UNTIL I found this forum. Followed the instructions above and using Line6 Updater instead of HxEdit and got the beastie updated and working again. THANKYOU, THANKYOU, THANKYOU.
  9. Hi, I don't know if this will help, but I have a similar issues with my Fender Twin Amp. I wanted to place the M13 into the amp's effect loop, but the had too much earth hum to make it viable. I tried various methods to isolate the earth but still no good. I then replaced the tubes in the effects loop with the best quality ones I could get and these had higher gain than the Fender Groove Tubes. The result was that apart from the earth hum being increased I also had the squealing and warbling sounds that you describe. Replacing the original tubes fixed the squealing and warbling. So if the tubes in the effects loop were replaced when your amp was repaired, this could be a possible source of you problem. Hope this helps. Cheers, Luke P.S. I still haven't found a way to use the M13 in my amps effect loop. :(
  10. Hi All, Thank you all for you replies and help. Your feedback helped me to find the cause of the problem and fix it. Cheers, Luke
  11. Hi again. Well I fixed it :D It turned out to be in the guitar's RJ45 socket. Looking into the socket I noticed that the inside end has a structure that is designed to keep the electrical contacts separated. Well it looked like it had somehow been crushed and this made some of the contacts short together. Using a thin sewing needle I forced the plastic separators back into shape so that the contacts would not short. I then plugged the Ethernet cable into the guitar, connected it to the USB interface and YES! it works  Cheers, Luke
  12. Hi again. Well I've tried everything I can think of and still no good. I can see Workbench trying to connect for an instant (green LED flashes on the USB side) but nothing on the guitar side (LED stays green. No flashing). Could the guitar side LED be green but still have a faulty interface? Are there any other diagnostic tools available that may show a little more of what's going on? Maybe make more attempts to connect, say for around 10 seconds rather than a few milliseconds. Thanks again. Luke
  13. Hi again. I don't think that Monkey actually sees the guitar. It sees the USB interface, but there is no indication that the Variax is visible. I have attached a capture of the details. Thanks again. Cheers, Luke
  14. Hi, Thank you for your replies. Yes, I have got a 1/4" cable plugged into the guitar and no, I hadn't tried it with the battery pack removed, but I will and report back. I only have one RJ45 cable at the moment. It is new, but I'll get another one tomorrow just in case it's not right. Should this just a standard Ethernet cable (Not a crossover cable)? There does seem to be a poor connection on the guitar side RJ45 as its LED does go to red if I jiggle the cable around, but it is green normally. Could there be any problems with the interface electronics within the guitar? The guitar itself seems to work and sounds fine. Thanks again for any suggestions you can think of. Cheers, Luke (Australia)
  15. Hi All, I have a Variax 500 guitar and just cannot get Variax Workbench to find the guitar. I'm using the Variax USB Interface which seems to be working. The Line 6 Monkey (V1.65) finds it and both USB and guitar side LEDS are green. I have tried everything I can think of like re-installing the USB driver (V1.0.7.2), USB Firmware (1.03), plugging into different ports on PC. Batteries in the Guitar are good. Have also tried powering the guitar via A/B foot switch. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Luke
