  1. X220 said > "[The AMPLIFI app] Could use some eq..." ** Being able to EQ the backing tracks would be a great feature to add to the AMPLIFI app (I'm assuming there's no way to do it... Is this a correct assumption?). Hopefully it's in the works and is a planned feature for a future release! X220 also said... "You have this app that "could" search tones in several ways..." ** I'm all for having more options for searching--and publishing--tones opposed to having just the one "Tone Match" way. Hopefully this too is in the works and slated for a future release! Btw: I like the amp a lot and would buy it again if it were stolen... Having said that, I am looking forward to Line 6 providing the necessary and needed refinements to the amp's firmware, app, and Tone Match server. Mike
  2. That would drive me crazy too. If it were my amp that were vibrating I'd open her up to try to fix the problem, and then if I couldn't fix it for sure it would have to go back to the store. If you do decide to open her up take some pictures of the innards and post them--I haven't seen anyone do that yet. I'd love to crack mine open (I have the 75) but because it's working so solidly (not a hint of a rattle or vibration) I'm thinking it's probably best not to. Hope you make out well.
  3. ............ charlyg Posted Today, 04:22 PM > "You can however, go to the web, look at the Pod Farm tones, and check them out that way." Charlie, Can you please expound on this? Thanks, Mike
  4. Would you mind posting the screenshots for the "Swirly Twin" sound? All the tone clips you posted are great! but, probably my favorite is the "Swirly Twin" ... I'd love to get that one. Thanks in advance. * Note To The AMPLIFI Product Managers > Please make the ToneServer "Publish" and "Search" features more flexible and robust... Tying tones to a song is one way of doing things but it's not so great when a user creates some great tones (like Phil has above) and he wants to share them but can't because the tones created have no ties to specific songs (what a bummer!). AMPLIFI users should be able to publish and search for tones based simply on tone type e.g. VOX AC-30, Fender Twin Reverb, Acoustic Guitar, etc.
  5. Phil, Did you (and, if not, would you) "Publish" these sounds to the ToneServer? Nice stuff! Thanks in advance. -Mike
  6. Well, let's hope they do this "special" thing sooner rather than later because having a USB audio feed from AMPLIFI to my Mac would be awesome.
  7. Ok, so I connected my MacBook Pro to my AMPLIFI 75 via a USB cable... I then go to SETTINGS > SOUND on the Mac and see that there is now an input option called, ToneMatchAudio [nice so far!)... I then launch Audacity (an open source recording app that I use regularly for digital recording via USB from my VOX ToneLab which works great). When Audacity launches I see an the input option there called ToneMatchAudio (so far this is exactly how I get my ToneLab to record) but, unlike my Tonelab, I'm not able to get Audacity to record any sound via AMPLIFI's USB connector. I tried a bunch of other little sequence things to get it to work but no luck. Not sure how that kid I was mentioning was able to get it to work (if in fact he did). I will say this, it does seem like it's close to wanting to work but at this point I can't get it to. I find it interesting that the Mac does show an audio input option called "ToneMatchAudio" when AMPLIFI is connected to it.
  8. I thought he said USB port to DAW -- can't remember for sure but that was my distinct impression was USB. I can't remember where I saw it but pretty sure it was a comment under a review or YouTube video. Later tonight I'll try to do some back-tracking to find it.
  9. I read somewhere that some kid (it was the kid's father who wrote the comment) was able to record AMPLIFI's output into a computer via its USB port ... I'm wondering if anyone here on the forum has actually tried connecting AMPLIFI's USB jack to a computer in an effort to record the amp's audio?

  11. Hi sdevino, Do they [product managers/ developers] also read these forums? The reason I ask is because there are a lot of good ideas being posted here that I'm sure are not finding their way to ideascale. In any case, it's good to know you're there. Btw: Love the amp ... for me it's the perfect solution for my purposes/needs. I'm looking forward to the necessary: app, firmware, and tone server refinements that I have to think you guys working on. Thanks.
  12. This is a hard one to answer and will boil down to what your needs are... Comparing the AMPLIFI to HD500 and which one to buy is like comparing apples to oranges, they are two distinctly different things with some over-lapping features/functions: on one hand, the HD500 is strictly a tone generator (without any amplifier or speakers) and on the other is an amplifier (with some built-in amp sims and multi effects). It depends on what you need more and how you plan to use it e.g. gigging, home practice amp, studio, all of the above? My dream setup would be an AMPLIFI (with it's wireless bluetooth functionality) and a built-in HD-500 (with all its output connection options) ... I have to think they're working on it. In the meantime, I bought the AMPLIFI and like it simplicity and convenience as a practice amp a lot. I wonder if anyone on the forum has tried running an HD500 through an AMPLIFI? If so, I'd be interested in hearing about it.
  13. "Well, there is an issue with making tones from scratch. You HAVE to include the Song name artist etc to upload...no favorite clean tone upload without a song mentioned.. so Im looking for a song that is close......" Which is really dumb... So I publish a tone which is called "VOX AC-30" but no one can find it because it's not associated with a song? That really rots. They need to re-think how they're doing things ... I think a lot of people would like to simply search and download tones based on amp models or amp model/effects combos, e.g. "Fender Twin Reverb" etc. Right? Let's hope they add an option that let's users search the tone server based on keywords in the tones' titles. It wouldn't be hard for them to do this, and it would make it a heck of a lot easier for end users to find new tones. I have a lot of tones already that aren't at all associated with songs so now I won't upload them because no one will find them anyways.
  14. Is there an easy way to make all my tones relatively close to each other in loudness? The only way I know of is to choose my softest tone of the bunch--which in my case is an Acoustic Guitar sim that I created--making sure it's set as loud as possible and then adjusting the levels of all my other tones individually to match the softest one. So, this is one way... But is there another, easier way? Also, is there any downside to doing things the way I described above?
  15. For a 4th sound, how about a nice "Acoustic Guitar" simulation (I built a beauty) with the effects control on the amp set so you can dial in some nice stereo chorus? Btw: Did you publish your "Favorite Clean Tone"?
  16. This is the perfect amp for my purposes--I really like it a lot. I've got it (the 75) setup in the corner of my living. I've already built a small library of 10-15 great tones that I like a lot. I'm able to control the thing from my iPad and stream my backing tracks wirelessly back to the amp. The only thing I'm missing (which I'm researching now and will be getting soon) is a wireless guitar system so I can be completely wireless from the amp ... then, I will absolutely love the whole setup and how it all works together. The one hope and concern I have is that Line 6 will do the necessary follow-through to finish the development and refinements on the app, firmware, and tone server... they still have a ways to go here but I'm hopeful. Now if I only I could find some good "comfortably numb" , "shine on you crazy diamond" and "money" solo tones on that darn tone server. Anyone find any tones that will work for these songs? If you could let me know it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Need A Tone

Are you suggesting the only way to get a tone for Comfortably Numb is by having the actual song playing in my AMPLIFI Music Library? Aren't we able to simply type 'comfortably numb" in the [search Tone Cloud] space to obtain the tone.

    Need A Tone

Can someone point me to a good AMPLIFI tone for David Gilmour "Comfortably Numb" guitar solo?

    Tones

I have to say I've been pleasantly surprised at some of clean tones I've been able to coax out of AMPLIFI. One of my greatest reservations about getting this amp in the first place was that all the Line 6 demos I've seen/heard on Youtube, etc. are of people wailing away using high-gain tones. So far, I'm really digging this amp (even with the app and firmware quirks and bugs). I'm really hoping Line 6 will stay committed to refining the app and amp's firmware (which I'd put at 85% developed, at best). I'm hoping for app and firmware updates every few weeks for the first few months here. So far so good though--nice amp (for my purposes anyways). Btw: I hope the USB port is for future DAW connection ... I would really like to be able to plug this amp into my Mac for digital stereo recording purposes.
  20. To charlyg ... So your experience is that at lower volumes the 75 sounds better than the 150 but at higher volumes the 150 sounds best? I've been debating returning my 75 for the 150 BUT since I mainly use my amp at home at lower volumes I'm now thinking I bought the right one for my purposes. Has anyone else done any A/B comparisons? Would love to get some other opinions/observations on this. Thanks.

    Tones

Does anyone know which tones from which model POD correlates best to AMPLIFI's tones?

    Tones

I saw a review somewhere that claims 6000 AMPLIFI tones were available at the time it went to market... Does anyone know if there's a way to view these tones--and ratings--online somewhere?
