Just landed in Thailand and took my Helix with me on the plane in the sweet backpack which i HIGHLY recommend - even fit two laptops and all cables in there too! By carrying it on your back secured nice and tight the airlines dont question the weight / size...also managed to take the Variax JTV89 AND a spanking new Martin Acoustic in a custom design MONO reinforced soft case that holds both - they came in at under 10kg bag included. Amazing. Im gonna run the 2.2 update today so wish me luck. Peter, I saw you have some vids on running patches that feature the Variax Mags AND the acoustic models in the one patch on separate paths (?) but it looks like the tutorial was for the POD HD 500. Is it possible to do with the Helix? Could be great for some rocky ballads. Any links appreciated! Thanks

Great thanks, yep I think thats correct. I will build some helix patches with it! It def doesnt have the Aura.

Hey all I have these and they sound amazing. I actually load them in the Cubase inserts inside Two Notes Wall of Sound and blend. I am thinking of getting a Martin Omcpa4- https://www.martinguitar.com/guitars/performing-artist-series/omcpa4-rosewood/ it has 'Fishman F1 Analog'electronics and was wondering if this will colour the sound too much out of the guitar to get the joy out of the IRs Im looking for? Excuse if its a silly question - any thoughts appreciated!

Hi all Been loving my JTV 89 for a while and really delving deep with its use with the Helix. Major problem was the odd Squealing issue which a reflash fixed handily HOWEVER - now ONLY the mags are usable because as soon as I engage ANY models they have a crackling and / or white noise throughout where they used to be perfectly silent until played which I loved esp for recording pristinely. I have eliminated all causes (its not the VDI Cable, nor the Helix, nor the Battery etc) Re flash and reboot to no avail, I think the problem is in the actualy electronics ie hardware Did I mention Im in Sydney, Australia? WHAT TO DO? Thanks for any suggestions Im at my wits end and very sad :(

Hey guys I'm looking to set an even volume for all my patches and was wondering what is best practice to do this? The ones that have IR's built in I adjust the volume on the IR's but there must be a better way to do this that will apply to ALL patches including the ones built with stock cabs? Cheers

Hi guys I was wondering how I would go about running two acoustic guitars - one plugged into Guitar In and one into Aux 1, and a vocal (Mic) - recording all three DRY but monitored in real time? I got it going but could only monitor one acoustic, and I had no control over the levels of anything but the Mic - meaning the signal was VERY low going in. Any best practice for this? Seems when I set the Output to MULTI ( meaning I can hear what Im recording) I cant have that guitar go to USB 3/4 for example as MULTI is only set to USB 1/2? Im confused...

Hi all Working on getting the best sound for my Washburn Acoustic (NOT mic'd up) by plugging directly into Helix. There is a 1/4 inch output on the guitar AND an XLR Which is the best approach do you think? At the moment Im going in like a regular guitar and then blending the DI'd sound with some Taylor IR's I found on here in the Torpedo Wall Of Sound Plugin inside Cubase Also - I find the level of the acoustic quite low on the dry USB 7 channel I record - is it best just to "Normalise" this up after it's recorded? Or can I make the dry track hotter on the way in? Many thanks!

Gotta say the Tuner has been buggy and weird and NOT picking up some strings on the Variax AT ALL. - Switching to Mags not helping either - I will note Im using the VDI cable

Hi guys Used the template to try this last night and it appears I have done something wrong - I wish to capture a track of DRY vocal and DRY guitar for processing in Cubase while monitoring with some FX, is it a panning issue? I'm setting the two mono tracks as USB 7 and USB 8 respectively... Any advice welcome.

Is this performed simply by using Helix as an interface via USB? IE not special mdi cables or setup required? Just Midi controller info in Cubase?

Hi there! I too would love these patches and am on Windows 7 - zipped is fine, I will PM you

Im giddy Im so excited, got the backpack and all. Have updated it to Version 2.00 and reset all the presets at work - (no guitar here so cant actually play it grrrr) Any suggestions as to what batch of presets I should spring for first to hear this thing dance with my Variax? I'll be connecting the the VDI Cable. Was considering getting Glenn DeLaune's entire collection to start with...any suggestions?

Hi! First post here and I am BEGGING you to help me duplicate that Acoustic tone - Could you upload your Variax "Dreadnaught"patch AND the HELIX patch you used to achieve this? I tried to download the "Taylor IR"you linked to but no joy... I'd be forever grateful if you can help me achieve this. It's the best tone by a country mile I have heard for acoustic using the Variax!!!

Hi I cant seem to find the Variax specific presets anywhere? Do you know where I can find these?

THANK YOU THIS WORKS PERFECTLY!!!

Thanks - the thing is this guy in the video is evidently NOT recording via USB as if he was the POD HD would be the Audio Device. What I want is to record via USB and ONLY hear the Pod sound when the track in Cubase is in "Monitor" mode. As it stands the guitar amp is ALWAYS blaring when playing and is doubled and awful when the "Monitor" button is engaged.. HAS ANYONE DONE THIS?
-
Thanks for your reply but Im not sure if understand what you are saying exactly ..

Hey guys One more question Is there a way to turn OFF the sound of the POD HD ampsim when using as a USB Interface? For example, so that when playing along with track in Cubase I only hear the guitar tone when I press the "monitor" button in the DAW and not ALL THE TIME? This will help me monitor it through cab impulses and other plugins in Cubase which help the sound tremendously! Thanks

Hi guys Ive got the HD Desktop, absolutely killer tones, very impressed by the new HD Model packs particularly the Jazz Chorus (impeccable clean) and the Remastered J800 (THE rock tone) I am wanting to record tones one at a time in mono just like I used to do through a DI into my RME Babyface (with the old Podfarm 2 as a plugin inserted) What would be the equivalent method to achieve this with the POD HD? I would like a method for using the analog outs into the Babyface Inst input and also a method for Direct USB recording. The whole Dual path stereo panned thing has me very confused! Thanks in advance.
