  1. You can use multiple osc blocks and legacy synths in conjunction with step tremolo and delay / auto filter to generate rhythmic sounds , i guess you could also use the looper .
  2. Im going from cleanish to heavy , im automating mic distance and early reflection and drive.
  3. Hi Quick question. Isn't using snapshots supposed to change settings without a gap in audio output?
  4. The frequency knob works in 10 hz increments which for some notes is a bit off. However the exp pedal seems to have a higher resolution but is impractical , is there a setting to allow coarse / medium / fine resolution. A hold and twist combo hudoken type manoeuvre perchance?
  5. Id use a send block to the BJ and any old amplifier for the sound coming from the helix sims. My story goes like this. A few years ago i bought an old valve carlsbro pa 60 which i dicked around with replacing caps and such. I cascaded 3 of the input valve channels to get some drive but wasn't impressed. I had planned to clone a 2204 preamp and rip out the pa 60 pre's all together. Since at the time i had a 1992 (basically a plexi) I lost interest. Couple of months ago i bought a jet city 20w head which by the way is awesome i retired the superbass as it has one sound. It sounded awesome, but sometimes you want something different y'know. Few weeks ago i got my helix floor and the plan was the 4cm. After a while messing around with ground loop issues the thought occurred to me to use the carlsbro as a valve power amp. Wow. WOW I've been using only preamp models from the helix and its better than anything ive played through. Full disclosure tho. I do have an early 70's 4x12 with 25watt pulsonic cones soooooo. But yeah i fully endorse going into an effects return and utilizing helix's potential. Cheers.
  6. So the tech guy confirms some odd behaviour of the momentary switching. We shall see what we see
  7. Easy way to find out would be to use the osc synth on a path with no input then fed back into the guitar input
  8. You can send hotkeys to fl studio like "space" for play or You can also use mmc commands.
  9. I guess you could use the external expression pedal to blend a block in/out using a/b/y blocks or similar.
  10. 2.82 didn't solve the issue :(
  11. Same. Tried global footswitch settings to see if the touch select setting was an issue. Is it possible that this is an issue from the 2.8 update that was meant to fix some units that had bad/dirty switches?
  12. yeah so the double take is the one i have set on this preset to be momentary hold it down for 60 seconds and it goes from normaly closed to normaly open, bizzare 2.82 updated and still the same pot of piscine pumpkiny.hlx
  13. I will try the update. It does it with double take too. At round about 60 seconds.
  14. Greetz So. When using a momentary footswitch to engage a bypassed block for a solo im finding that the polarity of the switch flips and i end up with a block that is on when it should be off. Specifically Stereo bubble vibrato 2.81. It seems to happen after an extended period holding the switch down. Any ideas?

    Daw crashes

Hi. So. Im at the end of my wits with my daw crashing at home. I have 2 computers at home and 1 in the studio. home pc. win 7 32bit. 2gb ddr2 ram. P4 2.8ghz home laptop. Win 7 32bit 2gb ram celeron 1.6ghz ?? studio laptop win 7 64bit 8gb ram 2.4 ghz Pentium something or other. The stuff i have at home wont even look at the helix drivers, it crashes instantly. I have to use asio4all to even get a few minutes playing around with it before i get a bsod. "IRQL_......ect ect" Every time it crashes it mentions Ks.sys As i type this its just did a new trick , its now crashed an mention a page error , whatever that is. But that could be unrelated i dont know. The main issue is the irql driver ks.sys bsod. It usually happens when i select inputs for a track ie usb 3,4,5,6,7,8 . Or stopping playing saving. Also when tweaking buffer sizes. As i said the helix drivers dont even allow the daw to open before crashing. The laptop at the studio however runs 10 ins from a tascam usb interface and plays nice with the helix drivers. Zero issues 2 things i know. 32 bit os at home 64 at the studio And then there's 4 times the ram at the studio. Im not pushing the pcs at home im just trying to mess around with 3 or 4 audio tracks to practice reamping so i know what im doing. So far ive reinstalled win 7 twice and went deep into the running services to tweak win7 for performance (i had the issues beforehand) Disabled all extra ports Disabled everything not needed Updated the bios so i could disable the onboard audio. Im stumped Anyone?
  17. I know im the problem. It just seems wrong to have cables going all over the shop.
  18. Thanks for your patience codamedia If i needed moar dsp could i not do this or similar. Plus im not using any send return blocks in this setup 1a G in ----------- path 2b 1b Loop in -------- loop out 2a mic in --------mic out 2b --------- guitar out
  19. its a 4 cm but with send and return 1 handling the effects loop as opposed to the standard 4 cm method. being new to fx loops (ive mainly played through single channel non mv amps) i really dont know anything about them other than what ive googled. cheers
  20. Yes i totally agree , its not a problem that needed fixed. Its me. I am the problem. I think its simpler, neater and easier to work with. Although id be interested in hearing how doing it the normal way would give more flexibility. I may be able to talk myself round if i have a good enough reason. I am fairly reasonable that way ;) Cheers
  21. Hey. Yeah. After a week of ownership i used path 1b for this. 1a front end 1b loop. 2a mic pre . Makes more sense to me. Any drawbacks to this?
  22. The heat shrink is a solid idea. I guess i just dont like one cable going round the back and one going to the amp input from two outputs that are side by side. I just wanted to know if it was possible, that way all my cords have a nice straight run and the fx loop cords are together nice and snug.
  23. Lol You know what i mean. I dont want the out going to the loop I want it straightforward and tidy.
