Yes, it does work as you described by appending a number to the end of the name. So if I have "Song 1" and copy it then it appends "(1)" to the end of the name so that I now also have "Song 1 (1)". This is how this works on the Helix Stadium Device once you figure it out (That is ANOTHER topic on this forum). But, you do realize that this only applies to the "USER" Song Library in the Helix Stadium Editor. If you copy "Song 1" in user set list "Set List 1" then you get a SECOND "Song 1" that is ALSO named "Song 1" and is the same "Song 1" as "Song 1". I am on the latest version of the firmware 1.3.2 of the Helix Stadium XL Floor and the Stadium Editor. This is one of many various discrepancies between the Floor Unit and the Editor. But it is getting better. DSP is another issue and Presets can get corrupted between the two editors as well. These are known bugs. I could not tell you any issue numbers though.

You did misunderstand me. Perhaps I was not clear. With Saving another version of a Preset then I can always save different states of that preset for reference. I can do that with the Stadium too. I just have to introduce the idea of version numbers. Versioning is a MUCH better way of developing a preset. It must come from my software background. But the way it was implemented in the Stadium - I have to be much more careful about it and preset management gets to be a real chore. It doesn't save me anything but causes more work for me. Well, that is my work flow. Maybe the Stadium was a bad purchase choice. I just never got that feeling with the Helix.

Oh, and don't forget that if you are running in Windows 11, Core Protection (in Settings => Windows Security => Memory Integrity) must NOT be turned on (a restart is required), AND Unsigned Drivers ("original name: L6SM.sys" and "published name: oem26.inf") must be allowed to load (Local Security Authority Protection must be turned off) in order for Workbench HD to properly load and recognize the Variax via the Variax USB cable. And I can't even get it to work via the Helix VDI Cable anymore. This will probably need to be addressed since Line 6 has ALREADY sold many of the EXPAND D10 Interfaces. Still waiting... All they have said is that it would provide a VDI Interface for the Variax. They have not specified which Variax Line they will support through the EXPAND D10 Interface. And they are not supporting the Variax Workbench since it was intended for the Variax guitar and not the VDI Interface.

Thanks Paul. I will be sure to do that as it was driving me crazy (not the first thing on this unit that has driven me crazy either). But I, personally, do not feel like updating all presets with the same name at the same time saves me from anything except managing the history of that particular preset. But then I lose other changes that I may have made. ANOTHER thing is that I can make changes to a Preset and then click on another Preset, for reference, and if I did not save those (incomplete) changes then I lose those most recent changes as well. It's like I am using Microsoft Word v2.0 on Windows 3.1 in 2026!

You are probably already aware but... here goes anyway. Church Electric Guitar often is very saturated in Delays and Reverbs. These can cause clipping badly in the Stadium Unit and yet still make the guitar tone not seem very full. I assume that you are A/B testing with only the Amp and Cab blocks at home and at your church. This behavior is what you are describing - though there could be other issues. I just never assume that the product is bad until I have eliminated all other options.

When I use a set list for a gig, but I tweak something in preparation for the gig in the Stadium Editor, it causes the Stadium to always use the USER Set List (or Master Set List or ALL Presets setlist - whatever it is supposed to be called). I then have to go into the Stadium itself and select the Set List that I was using because the Stadium editor changed the preset that I tweaked and therefore switched to the USER Set list. This is a very annoying behavior since the USER Set List is the Master Set List which can get very big over time (unless you employ a separate maintenance strategy requiring you to keep the USEER Set List (Master Set List or whatever) organized (which is quite the chore in itself). I think that Line 6's approach of using pointers for every Preset was a pretty BAD IDEA. It is something that I have used in Windows (various versions over the decades) very sparingly and for specific purposes. I think that it causes more headaches than it solves and this may just be another example of that. Am I misunderstanding how presets work on the Stadium and perhaps there is a better way. Let me know what works best for you or if you find it just as frustrating.

Since the hardware for the James Tyler Variax is no longer made as far as I know, you could end up with a regular guitar with extra knobs that don't do anything at this point in Line 6's guitar ecosystem.

I was finally able to use the Variax USB Interface cable to connect to Line 6 Monkey AND to Line 6 Central AFTER I... 1. Disabled Windows 11 Core Isolation Memory Integrity protection. And this has to STAY OFF until you forcefully use Powershell commands to rip out the L6SM64.sys located in C:\Windows\system32\drivers and run a Powershell command to remove this file since it can not be simply deleted. 2. Re-Enable Local Security Authority Protection that will prevent unsigned drivers from loading into the Local Security Authority. I am not sure about bit-locker as I do not have that enabled on my local computer. I am sure that the local hackers LOVE this kind of information too! Also, I can not use HX Edit at the same time as Workbench HD like I used to either. I am still not sure if this is related to the drivers required for Stadium and the Stadium Editor as they have their own ASIO and Line 6 drivers. Yamahahahaha leaves a bad taste in my hardware. I "used" to endorse the Revstar.

Also, the Stadium allows you to create multiple parallel paths using Splits and Joins. Every split can create a slight increase in dB output because of the parallel paths. This is obviously true when using parallel Amp Model presets. Unfortunately, Line 6 Stadium STILL exacerbates this problem by automagically setting the Join at an additional +3 dB, which alone is noticeable. I usually set all joins either at -1.5 dB for parallel splits such as dual parallel delays or parallel delay and reverb and I set the join at 0 dB for parallel Amp joins. But the bottom line is that if you happen to have 4 different joins in your presets (as of Stadium firmware v3) then you can automagically have +12dB added to your signal chain without you doing anything else. Additional effects or Amp blocks can make this even higher.

Interesting. My Variax guitars, HX Edit, Workbench HD, and Monkey were all working fine until I installed the latest Stadium Driver. Now, Line 6 Monkey and Workbench HD do not find any Line 6 software. I disabled the Core isolation and that DID NOT fix my problem. So I manually removed the offending L6 driver and NOTHING has changed. Opened a Line 6 ticket but have been told on the forums that "like the banner says" LIne 6 Monkey is "RETIRED" as of April 10, 2026. THAT might be my problem. Has anyone tried their Line 6 Monkey since April 10th? I have 3 Variax Guitars (Variax 500 - original before there was a 500 numbered Variax, and 2 JTV-69S's) and a Variax Bass Guitar (5 string model). I have been using them very effectively as I can dial in the tone that I need by simply changing the Variax Model within the Helix Preset by the snapshot I use. Something that the Stadium simply CAN'T do. Not until they release the "fabled" D10. And I am not sure even then - we will see.

But Line 6 Monkey WAS working. Unless Line 6 has intentionally disabled it with their newer driver interface for Stadium. And as for the D10... what D10? I ordered it with the Stadium LAST YEAR. It has YET to materialize. I have to wonder if Sweetwater, Musicians Friend, et. al. are getting a little tired of Line 6 and their delivery time lines. There is no Nexus for the Variax either. The O.G. Helix was native for the Variax, as designed. Line 6 is both trying to and NOT trying to support the Variax at this point - probably L6 Link, and other interfaces as well. It doesn't really matter since the D10 is...

I have Line 6 Monkey installed on Windows 11. I also have Workbench HD working on Windows 11. But since I got the Stadium and the Stadium Editor and the drivers for Stadium, Workbench is not recognizing any Line 6 hardware. Does anyone still use the Variax eco-system (JTV, Workbench, HX Edit) and is able to use it under Windows 11? Are you using Stadium as well? Not sure if I just need to reinstall L6 software or if it would do any good.

Does anyone currently know if Line 6 will support the Stadium Warranty past the first year after purchase? The Original Helix had support for 2 years (1 year plus 1 year to pick up). That is how good I felt about the Helix and how confident that Line 6 was in the Helix product. With the rollout of Stadium being... slow... I wonder if Line 6 will step up or if Yamaha Guitar Group has made another mistake. Their first one was buying a digital modelling company like Line 6 and then discontinuing the Variax because they are a "Guitar" company and not a modelling company. I know that there were other factors in play here on that decision. But I am simply asking about the Stadium warranty.

Yes, ask Line 6 to put in another new Stadium feature that the old Helix had.

Glad you are happy with the new Unit. The O.G. Helix PDF Manual is still out there. The new one does not exist as a PDF but is entirely online. The entire eco-system of the Stadium is somewhat different than the O.G. Helix. I have gotten exact matches of the O.G. presets to come in perfectly into the Stadium and they sound great. But other times, they sound really bad. I have developed a whole new methodology for building presets in the Stadium. So far, It has been hit or miss on whether they sound better than they would on the O.G. Helix. But there is definitely more flexibility on the new Stadium. But those Agoura Amp models can chew up your DSP so you think that you are working on the old Helix. I have found many blocks seem to come through the mix more than the old Helix and I find myself dialing them back. I also have had some interaction between blocks work a little differently. An example is that I had a O.G Helix preset with an Autoswell block and a Compressor as I would get the compressor the flatten out and give the Autoswell block something to work with and it worked great on the O.G. Helix. But on the Stadium, the Compressor and Autoswell appear to fight each other and I found that I could put the Autoswell between the Amp and Cab and that worked better. Wierd. I am a modeler guy but some of the things that I have done to get the sound that is in my head are probably not what I would do with a real pedal board. I just like the idea of swapping out pedals and trying things out WAY easier than dealing with physical pedals. Experiment some, and if you don't like what you are getting - then try a different approach. Like the Compressor and Autoswell - I am not one for convention and what I think would make sense. if it works for you then share it on CustomTone. I think that presets should be free for all. The stuff I have paid for is good. But I can usually do better for free - sometimes, if it is worth the time and effort.

Use the Split A/B type of Split block. Right Click on "Route To" to get the context menu in the Stadium Editor. You can also do this on the Stadium screen itself but no Right Click. Hey Johnny. Line 6 hit the ball out of the park for their OG Helix and James Tyler Variax. Putting actual, decent pickups on the Variax was something that all of us original Variax owners were hoping would happen. The Helix HX Edit and Helix Native plug-ins made the workflow great. The Variax Editor put the Variax in a place that could not be reached. I always felt that more could be done to truly get the modelling technology closer to the real thing for the Variax. I like what they have done with the Amp modelling technology. But frankly, it is not a huge leap from the OG Helix Amp models. Unfortunately, I feel like I have marginal more processing power on the Stadium than I did with the OG Helix - which is where it could have really shined. But AI could make guitar modelling something really special. But NO Manufacturer seems interested in doing it. Especially right now with the guitar market they way it is. Cheers. Interesting that all of the YouTubers out there that got a sneak peak at the Stadium were raving about how the scribble strips, stability, and Amp modeling were all better than the OG Helix and better than anything else on the market. I love today's YouTube advertising work force. Line 6 was really busy amping it all up about nine months ago. It seems like they are counting their profits and worrying about what they are going to do with their flagship platform that is getting beat up by gigging musicians. I see a price drop in the Helix Stadium future if this keeps up.

Musician's Friend has mine. Well, at least my money. Well, at least my order. What do these companies do with orders for a product that they can not ship anything for 6 months or more anyway? I hope Line 6 will not take another year for a product they promised LAST year that they PREVIOUSLY had but lost interest in! Line 6 is starting to get a new reputation - and I don't think that it is what they had in mind when they set the Stadium's price point.

I would also like the display to show the Foot Pedal position. Probably is a focus mode at some point. (Hopefully).

Yeah, we are all STILL waiting. It has been a YEAR since Line 6 announced the Stadium (Coming up soon anyway). My Variaxii are starting to fail. Cold-Solder and possible bridge piezos. Intermittent right now, but Line 6 support is... non-existent for the Variax now. The D10 is probably more for the other hardware that Line 6 will soon no longer support. The failure of the Variax is something that I still do not like about Line 6. It is still the only guitar ever made that could come close to playing a role in your overall EQ in a mix (by changing models, volume, Tone, or even pickups from Verse to Chorus. I understand that guitar players don't care about such things because guitars are also art. But I will have to work a LOT harder at coming up with good sounds on the Stadium without my Variax. If you know, you know.

I am with @silverhead on this. I do not believe that any of the blocks have been optimized on the Helix Stadium as they were on the O.G. Helix. And the Agoura Amp models and the Proxy captures are so DSP intensive that the result is closer to the DSP limitation on the O.G. Helix when adjusted for percentage usage. What I mean by that is, Using Agoura Amp models, especially when you can use two at the same time, and using certain other effects and routing blocks, you get only a bit more out of the Helix Stadium than you could on the O.G. Helix. However, the O.G. Amp models still sound great. Indeed, I tend to view the new Agoura Amp models as new Amps since the O.G. Helix did not have any of them. The preset spillover on the Helix was an issue killer for me and rendered the feature unusable since it impacted ALL of your Active presets if you wanted preset spillover on any one of them. But I certainly get Line 6 as not wanting to increase the complexity, price, and reliability of the Helix Stadium to put in a couple of more processors so that preset spillover could just be built in. Does ANY modeler do that and still have the feature set that comes close to the Helix family of products?

The Cab block is automatically assigned for each Amplifier model in the Helix. NOTE: You can turn off this behavior in the global options in the Stadium (see the online manual). I do not know how to assign a Cab block to an Amplifier model when it is not assigned by the Unit (I assume that you can not have more than one separate Cab block assigned to a particular Amp model). The answer to you question... If you see a link symbol when you highlight the Cab block, then that modeling of the impedance, reactions and stuff is also modelled. Otherwise, I do not think that it is. (Line 6 will have to confirm this though).
