  1. I have it set up as the first (or second) block with the pitch shifter at -1 for both with 100% mix just like Glenn Delaune and works perfectly. I build my preset after that and assign it to a switch. Easy as pie. Look it up on youtube.
  2. Am I the only person experiencing this? I'll post a video
  3. Did you resolve your problem? I'm having the same issue.
  4. I remember my GT-100 had a pedal calibration feature but I can't find it anywhere on the Helix. My pedal seems to be acting up a little. When I move the pedal from the zero position there is a considerable amount of movement before the unit starts registering any changes. I tried from Liner to Logarithmic but it acts up the same. If feels like the pedal doesn't know where the zero position is. It sucks when doing swells as the volume goes from nothing and starts at 40. Also when going from full volume down it goes to zero way before the pedal is all the way down to the heel. Any suggestions?
  5. Of course my original post was referring to a live situation.... Can we stay on topic? In the old days I also used a Marshall Head, a 4x12 cabinet and a microphone but in today's age with the advanced features of the Helix or similar units we got spoiled. Your analogy is the same as telling someone to get a real Amp if the emulation does not sound like the original.... I bought the Helix as a stand alone "do it all" solution. It's sad that a $10 tuner can do better in a live situation than the Helix.
  6. First off, I love my Helix and like majority of people here I paid about $1500 for it. It is a road worthy unit with enough power and effects to be able to eliminate the use of amps, cabs and even pedals.....at least thats what it is advertised as. Personally I LOVE my Helix. I got rid of a lot of gear to get it and it saves me a lot of time setting up and carrying stuff to gigs. Again, I love it. But like the OP said....oh wait that's me! Anyway, tuning a guitar is not left up to opinion or taste, it is an absolute. I may thing a particular tone sounds like a Marshall or a Fender and to you it doesn't but we will never be able to totally agree since between opinion, hear and settings there's a lot left to agree on. We all know that no guitar is ever perfectly tuned but we get it as close as we can. All I'm saying is that the Helix gives you a green light as soon as you're close enough, sharp or flat but you can never really tell by just looking at the screen if you're dead on or not. Sure, I can usew my ear or even my Boss tuner but all I'm saying is that I expect more/better from this kind of a revolutionary unit. Resolution, accuracy....does it really matter? I just want to play in tune and hope that Line 6 steps up a little and does something to address this. Again, I would still buy the Helix regardless.....
  7. JLondon, just for the record you are speaking to a luthier here..... I have tuned 3 guitars with 2 different Helix processors and compared the result to my Peterson Strobe Tuner and they were all way off. In fact the Boss tuner is almost dead on with the Peterson. I play live at church and when tuning the guitar through the Helix first I never get it close enough to pitch tuning in any string. I am not talking about compensation just a plain open string or an harmonic note at the 12th fret.
  8. Ok, I have read a few posts regarding the tuner and its pretty sad to read that a phenomenal pedalboard like this has such horrible tuning accuracy. I just gave my son the old faithful boss TU-2 tuner and shamefully had to ask to have it back.... Its now on my pedaldoard next to my wireless system.I got it new 20 years ago and its an awesome tuner and still works flawlessly. Considering the bounds and leaps of technology inside the Helix I'm just hoping Line 6 will step up soon and come up with an update for such a simple yet essential part of any guitar player.
  9. Love my Helix floor model and just got it attached to a Pedal Pad case. (Will post pics later). I think I'd like to get a secondary expression pedal for some extra effects control, amp gain maybe or whatever.... Unfortunately I don't have much space left on the case. What has worked for you in terms of compatibility for the Helix. Talking about expression pedals only not effects.
  10. I particularly liked how the lead sounded and how it feedbacked in the end.....VERY nice!
  11. Frankiman, there is another way in which you can have a separate amp on the first channel with an A/B switch. That way you can switch between a clean amp and a distortion channel. Here's a good video tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBm91miPTcs I did that and loaded the B path with the delays, reverbs and other modulations can can be switched on and off after either one of the amps.
  12. I've been wondering the same thing. Hopefully an expert will chime in....
  13. Hey everyone, I looked at the patch created by Glenn on Youtube but I was wondering if anyone has come up with anything a bit warmer, more like the sound of nylon strings. Would love any input on effects and IRs. Thanks!
  14. That's a good honest opinion I think! I'll give that a try....
  15. Glad to see there are other T-shirts in the portfolio.... ;) I do LOVE that preset! pretty darn awesome me thinks!
  16. Peter, simple to you maybe....I'm scratching my head here!
  17. That would be awesome! Let me know if you come up with a good idea...
  18. Hey gangster, I didn't know it this was you Glenn! Pretty cool stuff you've done with the Helix(and others). I have purchased a few patches from you in the past for my GT100 (now sold since the Helix is the ultimate!). This would be a great practice/challenge for your programming expertise. Plug in a guitar with 2 outputs into the Helix and have the patch select which input is active and switch between a whole acoustic guitar path with IR's and another for the electric guitar input with some amps and effects. what say ye?
  19. Peter, (weird since my name is also Peter!) Thanks a lot for the video and the reply that's a good starting point. Now I need to figure out how to have a patch switch between pickups. Sounds like a job for Glenn!
  20. There is nothing attached... Did you pay attention to the side of the screen? There is a scroll bar that may be hidden or covered by something. Try to move the application around the screen and see if you can see the scroll bar. Maybe the color is to close to notice but its there.
  21. I've been thinking about this for a while since I got the Helix. My main guitar is a PRS P22 with 2 humbuckers and a Piezo acoustic pickupsystem. It also has 2 outputs, one for electric and one for acoustic. Is there a way to plug in the acoustic out to the AUX input and create a separate path or patch that switches from one input to the other? What I was thinking was you switch presets and it changes from which input is active (guitar or aux) OR a path within a preset. On a different note, any suggestions on acoustic sound (i.e. amps and cabs) settings to use with an acoustic guitar?
  22. Thanks guys, I'll try that tonight once I get home.
  23. I've been trying to build a patch with a few effects on it. Kinda a do it all patch with stompbox feel and an A/B switch with 2 different Amps. One for clean and one for High Gain then on each path ad a few effects. For some reason it limits me to the kinds of Amps I can select and the kinds of effects available. I'm not really sure what the parameters are for what's allowed to be used or whats causing some modulations and effects to not be available in certain places. I'm thinking if using to Amps they have to be the same? Like the clean and dirt channel? Can anyone shed some light on this issue? Thanks in advance!
