  1. Which guitar are you using? To be honest the sound is pretty much just a tube screamer into a clean "vintage" style amp with the gain on the Screamer up pretty high. Anything other than a Warloch should be ok guitar wise
  2. Hope I'll also be wearing more clothes!
  3. This feels like that moment in The Matrix when Neo takes the red pill I know what I'm doing with the rest of my night!
  4. I done a small pub gig going direct with S-Gear during the summer. Was a bit impractical to be honest. However I could see the laptop making a comeback (purely for self indulgence) now I have Helix as an interface and controller Edit: must have been in April
  5. You even have enough I/o in Helix through USB to go- Guitar -> Helix Path A Path A -> S-Gear S-Gear -> Helix Path B Helix Path B -> DAW so you can have pre and post efx and still get back to your daw for recording
  6. The input on the soundlink can take iPhone and laptop headphone outs. It's more a case of just keeping the gain low on the headphone out on the Helix because it has a little more juice than those examples
  7. ... or any software modeller for that matter... Been meaning to hook Helix up to S-Gear using Helix as an audio interface for a while now. Had some spare time this afternoon and just wanted to tell you guys it works great. I had Path 1 pre-S-Gear and Path 2 post S-Gear using Ownhammer IR's in Helix. I had total latency of about 5-6ms I'll be honest, it didn't work at first. I have no idea why it started working all of a sudden or what changed but it randomly did start operating and has been solid since. Minotaur into The Duke is awesome. The Stealer into stereo Tri-Chorus and stereo VDD with some chamber reverb is the business too Why would you do this? Well as much as I LOVE the Stealer and genuinely wish someone would base a real amp on this sim (modelling will eat itself) I don't love it enough to want to bring a laptop to a gig to use it as opposed to the Plexi BRT or Mod 2204 However, what it does do is allow you to take S-Gear with you to someone else's studio and have a practical way of interfacing, through Helix XLR outs, to whatever equipment they are using. It also adds a tonne of effects to S-Gear. A switchable Z guitar input. And if I learn how to do it, USB midi switching? (I hope) None of this would be possible with an FX8 or Ax8 or Kemper or whatever the other ones called. So don't be afraid to hook your favourite standalone plugin up to Helix via USB and treat it like an insert loop. Next stop is Absynth for ambient reverbs. Eat dirt strymon :D
  8. Thanks I still really like the 63 Spring. Although for some reason it just seems a little "clearer" on my M5. It may just be in my head
  9. I may be talking nonsense but I've found a massive difference in the amount of distortion you end up hearing between any of the standard cabs and the 2038samples IR's. With the IR's giving a much more abd fuller distorted sound.
  10. Is the Hd500 reverbs the same ones that were on the m5/m9/m13 range?
  11. Are you primarily a high gain player?
  12. Wow that's amazing/nuts! http://www.decibel11.com/Pedal-Palette.html Get one of these and just go routing crazy with them!
  13. Practically though what are you going to do? Fit them on a massive pedalboard? Put one in a rack drawer? Keep them loose and rewire at every gig and rehearsal? It's also going to take up an awkward footprint on stage
  14. Wow cross thread quoting. That's intense. New level of stalking and provocation. I have a Helix. I gig my helix. I love my freakin Helix. I'd recommend the Helix to anyone who was looking for such a thing If you can't see why if you need/want options that are on the Ax8 but the functionality of the Helix that buying an Ax2 with floorboard could possibly make sense and instead find reason to cause an arguement I think you might just be lookin for a fight.
  15. I have to respect the fact you spent an absolute tonne of money on something you don't really need. Much respect! Just sell both of them and get an Ax2 + MFC and be done with it!
  16. I'll take you down to China town

Yeah your right, the modelled Whammy sure does miss true-bypass :')
  18. Fuller-range fatter-response Got it !
  19. Surely the moment you add an EQ it's no longer FRFR?!
  20. Am I the only person that utterly hates IEMs? Ban loud drummers. Uninvent IEM's (unless it's a big stage and you MUST go walkabout) Job done MAGA
  21. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ilncCKL2g1I Like?
  22. FRFR.... now with EQ! Erm....
  23. Honestly, I made one post about Variaxes that seemed to offend people. Another where I made a joke with another member who seemed pretty ok with it. Since then I have had to fend of personal attack after personal attack. Name calling. All sorts. By people getting involved for no other reason than to get involved. Every time it died down someone else would get involved. So from a joke with a member, and me not liking the neck on the Variaxes I've played, I have been rounded upon and personally attacked amongst other things yet everyone seems to have taken the moral high ground? Like how did that actually happen? Mob mentality is a funny thing. this forum is full of hypersensitive, self righteous bullies.
  24. Wow. That's unbelievable. Genuinely stunned. What a sanctimonious lollipop you are. Oh wait, now it makes sense.... Listen do me a favour and stop quoting me in things. It means I end up responding. And I really don't want to respond anymore. thanks in advance Peter
