  1. Hush little baby don't say a word, never mind that noise you heard... It's just the Line 6 Helix Update procedure under your bed, in your closet, in your head...
  2. Ok, well completely serious for a moment and totally off topic and no doubt a whole can of worms but I'm from the UK and the whole P&W thing is getting a bit bigger here now. I recently seen a church advertising auditions for a paid guitarist post. However, you had to be a practising Christian and part of the audition was to speak about your faith. Just in my opinion, I don't think any music "job" that requires you to be religious or have faith or anything else of that ilk can strictly speaking be called a music job. It's something else. So, just to clarify I'm not religious and I was poking a little fun at someone who called me a slug but if you are asking me what I actually think about the whole church thing then I would say you are a professional religious guy rather than musician. Although I'm sure you are more than capable of playing other types of gigs
  3. A slug that's made a living from music for over a decade including touring internationally You sound rather inexperienced if you are updating anything during a run of gigs Ps. 37 church services don't count. That makes you a professional fraudster, not a musician ;)
  4. A "pro" upset that the factory presets have changed? Lol Seems legit
  5. You actually genuinely got me there. You should have seen my face drop when I scrolled to the punchline
  6. My laptop exploded last week... well I'm pretty sure it's just the battery but I now have a non-functioning MacBook at an awkwardly austere time (actually in the middle of making a little Roseberry IR demo, too awesome to handle!) so I would just like to take this moment to express how much I hate all of you 2.10'ers and your auto engaging wahs
  7. Yup, mines is a glorified G-System replacement that I also use as a direct recording rig Edit: I actually use the soldano clean channel in conjunction with my amps dirty channel because a) it sounds great and b) saves me having to get a cable cut to work with my amps 6 pin din

    QSC K10?

    Yeah set it to 0db
  9. Yeah that's possible. You just change the midi message associated with that patch. I would advise reading the manual because no matter how well I explain the process the Line 6 guys have already explained it better. Ps. May I ask what you intend using the M5 for?
  10. Cv4 sounds great in isolation but when it comes to mixing entire tracks, especially with distorted guitars, you lose a lot of definition. 57's can sound thin in isolation but they sit can sit in a track much better.
  11. 20 dollars doesn't put my fuel warning light off :,(
  12. Stop talking sense in a calm and articulate manor please.
  13. He's got as much right to bring up the topic as you have to think it's not valid. I'm not entirely sure where you get the idea that you are somehow the forums conscious from but the only thing that's laughable in this thread is your sanctimonious post.
  14. Wonderful post. Very helpful. Where may I donate? Facetiousness aside, I already said I'm totally on board with donations as payment for "freeware". But then, by definition it Is not free but has a A user defined value. Asking for donations for freeware is a consequence of uninforcable copyright. Real freeware is exactly that: free. And like I said, people can do what they want. I'll let my stomach decide if I'm ok with someone asking for "donations". If it turns slightly then I know I'm not ok with that particular situation. Sorted.
  15. I feel pretty bad about saying this because he's never done me any harm and seems nice enough but the YouTube Helix discussion videos he does are brutal
  16. Sorry i think I came across wrongly there, im totally ok with tipping staff etc and understand why tipping is important, necessary and fair over that side of the pond. Totally onboard. I'm also a big fan of the "donation" model when it comes to unsigned bands or artists or freeware. Even something like Reaper probably comes under this banner too. I mean more, for example, people on Facebook groups accepting "donations" for explaining to a new Helix user how to turn on their Helix and just so happening to have way to accept such donations already setup. I mean what sort of guys are we? The sort that returns a wallet full of cash and accepts a reward or the types that return it and say nah that's ok mate don't worry about it.
  17. I think that "tipping culture" is very American. I cringe when I see people either encouraging others to take "donations" and even more so when they are being sought. Where I'm from "tipping" is something you would do to a cow in a field, possibly whilst intoxicated.
  18. 1. That is why a bike ride was only a suggestion :) 2. You're welcome
  19. YAMAHA RBX series play like buttah on hot pancakes, won't break and don't cost the world
  20. 1. People can do what they want 2. If you find yourself having philosophical debates about Helix patches then I would suggest a walk in the woods or perhaps a bike ride.
  21. Yeah you're probably right. I'm not that guy either. Although I do appreciate a good anologue delay I don't think I've really played any digital stuff that ever blew me away. The G-System and G-Force had some nice stuff on them from but wasn't like wooooow.
  22. Are the delays really that bad? Vintage Digital was a great add on. The DMM model isn't my favourite DMM model of all time but it's defitinly not a toy
  23. I use the Plexi BRT 85% of the time unlessi must have really clean then I use the DLX Normal Kinda like real life to be honest
  24. I dunno... if it's really that bad there's probably something more basic going on like the guitar is naturally a bit harsh up there or something
