I would like to think if they are all going on sale that would be an indication that maybe a MKii unit may be on the horizon (summer namm?) I would rather have the features advertised on the G10s but man that Boss WL50's 12 hours of battery life is really looking good. Ill wait a few months and see, Only using cheaper ammoon wireless in my teaching studio for now but would like to upgrade for live use. I love not having cables all over the place in my teaching studio, and band practice.

Hi Caddbass, How long does the transmitter last in total for you? I am considering purchasing it but... not hearing it is getting anywhere near the 6 hours as advertised.
-
I was about to purchase a G10S system today. After reading the forums I'm stunned at how little the battery lasts on brand new units. I have heard the fidelity of the GT10S is better than the Boss WL50 but 2 hrs vs 12 hrs... It's not like I'm going to use these units to record an album with, just live performance. Doesn't seem like a good deal to me.

You can use the HXFX in your amp's loop like any other pedal. Or you could go the 4cm (4 cable method) route and put pitch and drives before the amp and modulation and time based stuff in the amps effects loop. Read codamedia's earlier post in the thread. Once you wrap your head around it it's easy. Or Just google "4cm helix" and you will find plenty of videos and pics.

No you can not use the HX Effects as an interface. Only with the actual Helix units can this be done. You can however use the Waza amp as your interface and still integrate the HXFX with it as far as I know. You may want to start reading the manual and check out this thread here:

I am probably missing something obvious. Still experimenting with the 3.0 firmware and to be honest I only used the HXFX for drives and Mods previously, but now I't replacing almost all of my pedal board except for a a nice wah, optical volume and looper. I am thoroughly enjoying the new features but feel like I am just breaking the surface.

I had the same dream. My ex-wife turned into a cat. all the sudden I was in highschool... naked and helix was polyphonic.

Hi Glenn, I kind of agree with you. And that is why I invested in the HXFX. When I record with IR's I am satisfied enough, but in the room/on stage I really miss the dynamics of a good Deluxe and JTM45. That and I'm old and not really interested in tweeking my amp on a computer screen. I ain't got time for learning curves. Trusting amp/cab sims on stage is a little scary to me and not what I'm used to. Also I'm not very excited about the Helix lacking of: Poly pitch/ synth/ and more modern abstract reverbs and delays that the newer pedals provide. If firmware 3.0 doesn't do it for me I am definitely adding EH pitchfork+ and oceans 11 to my pedalboard. All that said, I feel like my unit was way more than worth the money for all of the modulation and drives (and some of the delays and verbs.) Maybe if you love your amps that much, just invest in those amps and a reactive load box. The Helix is hands down worth it for me. I guess I didn't approach it as if it were the one and only product that will define my entire musical personage and satisfy every musical need.

Any idea what we can expect in the next update? 2.65 or 2.70?

I believe, I saw a video a week or two ago on youtube (possibly the EVH gear channel,) with a mention regarding upcoming work on Polyphonic pitch. I really really really hope to see this in the next update. Some cooler organ/keys/bass pitch shift stuff would be sublime, especially for my live solo act (my hog and its control ped with exp ped takes up too much real estate, considering I use it for 15-30 min out of a 3hr set.)- 66 replies

Tablet that works with helix editor?(or possibly even native)

This would be perfect... I use a chromebook flip that runs android apps and this would be perfect -
Thank you Phil. I'll give it a go when I get home.

HxFx 2.6, I'm still getting the problem regarding the one botton looper mentioned earlier. When attempting to delete the loop I get a second of playback. This is not gigable. It randomly blurps out the first second of your well timed loop. Could someone else confirm this please? Or maybe I am setting it up wrong?

Does the Xlr output include EQ and fx/verb, or just a dry signal? Thanks to any respondents. MP

I am new here. Seriously never owned a digital pedal before (excluding my phrase samplers.) I have put in a couple hours on the HX effects unit and have chosen to replace several thousands of dollars worth of pedal and boards for my trip abroad (which will be long term or possibly permanent.) I am getting more and more comfortable with the idea. Yet, I have one complaint/feature request. All of my pedal boards run right to left (as most pedals do.) It would be counter intuitive to place my first pedal in the upper right hand side of my board. The signal chain graphic on the HX runs backwards too. Unfortunately this boggles my analog guitar brain. Would there be a possibility for a quick setting to fix this? I'm cool with it practicing in the studio but my main concern is, I may find myself getting flustered on stage with that. I know this may seem like a silly request but to an analog player of 25 years, who may have to make adjustments in the beginning or setbreak or god forbid during a bass/drum solo I would feel a hell of a lot more comfortable with the signal chain graphic in the proper analog order. Maybe this is a mute point and I will get used to it but I had to double think a couple of times trying out the unit. Thanks for your time. MsP

I'm very interested in any responses to these questions too. I have tons of analog gear I won't be able to take with me to australia when I travel and I really rely on my looper. I'm hoping the HX effects can substitute most of the things I do when I perform solo with a looper. Do the overdubs stack over the loop or does a 2x loop overdub retain that value? Is there an undo for overdubs?
