I've tried downloading 2.8.2 but I get a pop-up saying that HX Edit "can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated". Anyone else gotten this?

I have a 2018 Macbook Pro and up until about 2 weeks ago, the DAW I use and HX edit doesn't recognize my HX Stomp. Is this likely because of a problem with Catalina? If so, when will it be fixed? Anyone else experiencing this problem?
