  1. Now fixed - Line 6 advised me to do a Pod Go reset (Press C&D when booting up) & reload my backup - and it did the trick. I can now do set list back ups from User section.
  2. Cool, glad you got it sorted.
  3. Update - oddly, I can back up a set list from the factory patch section, but i can't from the User area and which is where I get the error message. I've raised a ticket and sent a full back-up so will be interested to see if the tech guys can see what's wrong.
  4. I would immediately insist on a replacement as its under full warranty and not to accept a repair.
  5. I just tried to backup a set list, and got this error message - can anyone from Line 6 explain/assist please? There is nothing wrong with any of the patches - they all load correctly: Just to be clear, I saw a Helix thread on this. I've tried backing up a set list in different sections of the list, a few at a time, in blocks of five or even two and no matter what I do the error appears. Yet I can back up my patches in their entirety with no problems - I just can't do a set-list back-up. Is this a Pod Go Edit bug?
  6. Tried this myself today. When switching between on/off on the Guitar Pad it is like a Hi & Lo guitar input although not quite as pronounced as on most amps. I'm happy to keep it off ie equivalent of 'Hi' input, but it's useful to know it's there.
  7. The Guitar in Pad setting is intended to reduce the input signal for active pickups or pickups that are untypically powerful/loud. Kind of like having a Hi & Lo input on a guitar amp. As the manual says, there are no rules just whatever sounds best. The other setting to check is the main out level - if you're going through headphones, powered cab, PA this should be set to 'Line'. If you're plugging Pod Go into the front of an amp, set it for 'Instrument'.
  8. Thanks @silverhead I suspected that was the case but just thought I'd ask. Not bothered enough to put on ideascale as there are more important things Line 6 need to do.
  9. In preset foot-switch mode when you press bank up/down the presets 'flash' on/off to indicate these are queued ready for loading. But I find the flashing distracting and makes it harder to see the queued presets. Does anyone else find this, and is there anyway to turn this flashing off?
  10. You duplicated your post - try & delete it if you can.
  11. Wierd but doesn't seem to makes any difference with my Pod Go.
  12. For a full factory reset: ere are the common button combinations for POD Go when attempting a factory reset or troubleshooting. To perform any of these, start with the POD Go turned off, then flip on the power switch while holding down for 5-8 seconds. It's helpful to have your presets backed up or saved to your PC or Mac computer, before performing a factory reset. C & D - Factory Restore (Restores all factory settings) A & B - Clears Everything (Clears all presets, factory settings will not load) PAGE > - Update mode (helpful for any interrupted or failed updates) P32 of the manual if you just want to clear global settings back to factory.

    Snapshots

Cheers Phil, I didn't know that - cool!
  14. I don't want to clear cookies as it will muck up other things...unless there's a way to just clear the L6 cookies?

    Snapshots

Exactly right! Also, a lot of folk don't realise that although FS2 is set by default to fx loop, you can reassign that the same as any footswitch. I often set it to an overall output level clean volume boost so regardless of what else is on or off, or which snapshot I'm in, I can add e.g. a 3dB volume boost.
  16. I go onto one page, it shows I'm logged in. I click on another eg the topic, and it shows I'm logged out. It doesn't let me log in to the page or log out of the other page - it gets stuck. Not every time, but a lot of the time. If any of the L6 folk are looking in, please could you look into this? Anyone else have this issue?

    Snapshots

Not a silly question, but no you can't. You can only use the amp, cab & fx in the patch because Snapshots are merely a patch within a patch ie they allow you to set a variation of what's in the patch. If you want 2 amp and 2 cab options, you need Helix or Helix LT. It's in the manual, p26 at the bottom.
  18. If you want to use two different amp models you have to use different patches. But there are amp models that will give you a nice clean and either you can rack up the gain and/or you can add a distortion. So rather than focussing on specific amp models, there are other ways to achieve good cleans and good distortions in the same patch. Sometimes using an amp you'd not thought of before can bring up all sorts of possibilities. I'd never considered using the Soldano Clean before but I saw the idea elsewhere and thought I'd experiment, and created a patch which you can find here, with a quickly put together demo of each snap. It's just to show the idea. https://line6.com/support/topic/57071-had-a-go-at-making-a-demo-of-a-pod-go-snap-patch-i-created/
  19. Factory setting is that the mode switch goes from preset mode to stomp. But you can set it in global settings to go from stomp to snap and in snap mode you can still scroll presets. You can also set the stomp to show 6 footswitches or 4 footswitches plus up down scrolling. If you set global for stomp to snap, you won't need to press the up down together unless you want to come out from snap mode. It's really easy to use. You can also add 2 further external foot switches F7/F8 to switch fx on or off, and/or change certain parameters. Although these don't display on screen, they operate in any mode. So you could set F7 to give a gain boost and F8 to switch distortion on or off in each patch, without having to go into stomp mode. You can set them for other things too e.g. going from short to long delay etc etc.

    wah pedal ?

Actually, two things. First, there is an end to the pedal travel and second, my Pod Go is easy to click on off the wah with minimal pressure.
  21. I have Vox Tonelabs SE and LE that I gig with, and thought I'd never find anything that gave me their valvelike tone in a smaller, lighter, giggable format. I was initially really disappointed with Pod Go as I couldn't find the tones I wanted. But once I 'got' Pod Go and ignored the presets, I discovered how brilliant it sounds, and exceeded my expectations. The thing about Pod Go is that it isn't plug n play and you do need to invest some time in it. But there are loads of patches to download from Tone Central...these vary in quality but some are brilliant and you'll soon identify contributors you like. Using Pod Go Edit is the best way to experiment because it's so fast and easy and the visuals are excellent. And do watch YouTube videos that have a ton of info to help you find your tone.
  22. Modern MFX devices like the Line 6 Helix, Pod Go, Mooer GE300, Zoom G11 etc all use 'dynamic' DSP rather than 'static' DSP. If you are used to 'Static' DSP units eg Vox Tonelabs, Boss GT3/GT5, Digitech RP6 etc etc then it does require a 'mind shift'. The aim is to give you much more choice and control, and way higher quality amp, cabs, effects etc rather than a more limited selection, so you choose what models to select. Heavy DSP users are eg spring reverbs and certain amp models eg Jumped Plexi. Once you get your head around it, it's actually rarely a problem because by changing eg a spring reverb to a room or chamber reverb, or choosing a different amp eg a non-jumped version, you free up DSP. to use elsewhere. Think of it as having a container that can hold up to a litre, but no more. If you choose a room reverb, that will take up more than a third of your container. If you went for a room , hall, plate or chamber reverb, it would only use up 13.6% of your container. A multi-head delay would use 25% of your container, but a simple delay would only use 7.6%. A Brit Plexi Jump amp would use up nearly 41% of your container whilst a non-jumped Plexi, JCM800 or Marshall Super Lead 100 are around 34-35%. But a Supro amp uses up less than 18%. And so on. There is a really good chart that Ben Vesco put together (see link below - look at the Pod Go column) & he has a youtube video explaining all this. When I first discovered this, I also thought 'WTF' and there's a post of mine here on this very subject. But in practice, when creating patches, I rarely have any issues. But if you choose the heaviest usage amps, reverbs & delays/FX you could find that you run out of DSP quite quickly and rather than having (up to) 4 user blocks you might be down to 3 and in extreme cases 2. The thing is to go by what you hear and like rather than assuming a spring reverb is 'best' (trust me, there are other great alternatives!). But there are lots of forum and you-tube 'tricks' to help you get the most out of your DSP allowance - eg using an EQ as a distortion boost, and instead of adding a distortion boost for that lead solo, kicking in amp gain (even with different EQ settings if you want), and instead of loading 2 delays (one long, one short) you can use the same delay for both by changing the delay time, mix settings etc all via a single footswitch. You can use snapshots to bring these changes in and/or use stomp footswitches - and In this regard I have two extra footswitches connected to give me even more flexibility here. As you get to learn how Pod Go works (and do watch tutorials/vids - there's a ton of info out there!) you'll realise how flexible it is, and the DSP really won't be a problem. Pod Go's a brilliant, very flexible & high quality unit that gives you (except for 3 very heavy DSP models) exactly the same models as Helix. But it's been designed for a particular market sector at a more budget cost and because it only has a single DSP chip, there are some compromises - so if you want the extra processing power, plus the ability to run more than one amp/cab, and more than 4 user blocks, you'll need Helix or Helix LT. but these are more expensive, and are a lot bigger and heavier! Most users agree that the display on Pod Go is actually better, and there have been more than a few Helix/Helix LT users who are selling and buying a Pod Go because many users are simply not using all the extra things these units can do, and want something smaller, lighter & simpler to use. https://benvesco.com/store/helix-dsp-allocations/
  23. You can save any patch with any fx block on or off. If you want the expression toe control to activate a block you can set Pod Go so that when you switch the patch on, that block is on or off so that when you hit the toe switch it will turn the block on or off.

    wah pedal ?

Don't forget, you have a choice of 10 wah's. So well worth experimenting as they do sound different. And you can also set the volume pedal in different ways too Inc pan, stereo width, logarithmic, gain and change the position of both the wah and volume pedals where these will respond differently. Changing the chain position of fx makes a huge difference too and it's so quick and easy to experiment, esp via Pod Go Edit.
  25. You should be able to get great tone without touching the Global EQ but I don't think that's the problem if you are getting fizziness and finding the sound too hot - that's likely to be an input signal issue. I'm using Pod Go with Audio Technica ATHMX50 headphones, and for live sound through a Headrush FRFR 108 powered speaker, and it sounds really, really good through both. So this isn't the Pod Go but must be what you are using it with. Global EQ is unlikely to affect the hot fizziness you are referring to because It sounds as if you have some kind of external boost going on (but there's no harm in experimenting to see - it's easy to return it to default settings) . When you say "Katana 50 2 with a power amp in connection" do you mean that you are going into the FX loop return of the Katana and using it as a power amp, or do you mean you are using the Katana in conjunction with an external power amp? Is there a control /setting on the Katana to switch the FX loop dB output eg a different setting for rack mounted or normal floor pedals? If there is, make sure it's set for the lower floor pedals setting (the fx loop in my Marshall Valvestate 8080 has a 0dB & -20db switch) Is this hot fizziness on every factory pre-set, or only on pre-sets you've either tweaked or loaded down from the Custom Tone site? Are you getting this hot fizziness just through your amp set-up or headphones too? If it is the same through headphones, are you using a good quality studio-monitoring type headphone that deliver more of a clearer FRFR (Full Range Flat Response) tone? Also, what guitar and pickups are you using - are these particularly hot pickups or active e.g. EMG's? Are you connecting Pod Go with a standard instrument cable, or a stereo TRS balanced cable (with my FRFR108 I use the latter for better tone) I'm afraid that without being in front of your gear and seeing how everything is connected & set, it's difficult to know where your problem is.
