  1. Can we expect some videos featuring the JTV soon? Always enjoyed you Pod ones. Cheers, jayson
  2. Does Yamaha have forums equivalent to what Line 6 hosts? When I owned a 01x mixer, Yamaha did sponsor a Keyfax forum but once they discontinued the product the forum shut down shortly after without any notice as Yamaha pulled the funding. Left a bad taste in quite a few user's mouths. It would be nice to know what the plans are for this forum. Any experts have any inside info? Cheers, jayson
  3. Let's hope Line 6 doesn't abandon the current Variax owners like Yamaha did with their mLan products. Cheers, jayson
  4. Can't say that I'm happy about this based on my experience with what Yamaha did with the 01x and mLan. A lot of people invested in their systems and were abandoned by them so I'll be sitting on the side line for any new technology they come out with. Cheers, jayson
  5. I think you have to register for their newsletter to see the blowout price. I got a 705 bass from them for $499 when they where discontinued so it's worth it to sign up. Cheers, jayson
  6. Does your JTV function correctly with 1.9? If so, then just upgrade again to 2 but watch the lights on the dongle. If your JTV is not functional with 1.9, then try reflashing to 1.7 and if that gives you a working guitar then reflashing back up to 2. Again watch the Workbench USB dongle as I believe the timeout errors might be due to it either not working correctly or having a bad cable. Have you contacted Line 6 support? They should be able to assist you much better than this user forum in tracking down what your issue is. Cheers, jayson
  7. I don't think you would have to go back to v1.7 but it might worth a try. During the upgrade watch the dongle to see if it the status lights flip from green to red. When I got the midi timeout error I noticed that the RJ-45 end flipped from green to red on its own. I reflashed to down to v1.9 and then back up to v2 and didn't experience any more time out errors during the reflashing. Cheers, jayson
  8. Try rolling back to an earlier firmware and, if that takes, flash back up to v2. Cheers, jayson
  9. So if I'm understanding this correctly, it seems that these ghost notes are only occurring if you change one of the preset tunings on the alt tuning wheel with the WB software? Anyone have any ghost note problems after saving an alternate tuned guitar to a position on the model dial? Cheers, jayson
  10. I still don't think it's a memory issue. The JTV's have enough memory to load 12 banks with 5 patches each for a total of 60 distinct HD guitars. I think the problem with the old models are that it's like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole; the structure of the new HD engine is too different to simply port over old models so Line 6 had to re-profile each guitar. That would also explain why the acoustics all had to change when they went to HD versions. To the OP I'd say, if you have the time, try out the new version. While there are a few issues I have experienced, overall I'm sticking with v2. Cheers, jayson
  11. I don't think that's it. I think the reason the old models are not included is that they don't have access to the guitars anymore so couldn't re-model them with the new HD modeling technology in v2. Instead they found similar guitars and replaced them hoping users would find no difference or prefer them to the old models. Cheers, jayson
  12. For those of you having MIDI time out issues make sure your volume isn't at zero and that you have a charged battery. I got a time out error when attempting to upgrade through my HD500 but resolved it by turning up the volume, plugging in my battery and using the Workbench USB interface to upgrade. Not sure what change I did got it to work but it worked. Cheers, jayson
  13. How much for 15 footer shipped to Canada? Cheers, jayson
  14. That's a bit of a bold statement! Guess us regular peons just have to wait for Line 6 to get their dung together and release the upgrade! :-) Cheers, jayson
  15. Thanks for the info Phil. Hate having to wait for this upgrade but would prefer it's bug free when released. Would have been nice if they kept us more informed especially after the original announcement way back when. Cheers, jayson
  16. Bump. Anyone at Summer Namm get an update? Cheers, jayson
  17. Also do you keep charged in the charger? I have kept mine in the JTV but use my HD500 to power it all the time as I thought that leaving it in the charger would eventually limit the batteries ability to hold a full charge. Cheers, jayson
  18. As other's have said, it is possible but one thing to consider is that the tuner only functions with whatever is connect to input one. Cheers, jayson
  19. Just make sure the second input is set to guitar in and you should be able to use both. The only thing you would lose would be that the tuner won't work on the non Variax guitar; it only works with the first input. Cheers, jayson
  20. Andy Z has a website with patches for Variax's over here: http://www.instituteofnoise.com/L6/patches.asp Cheers, jayson
