  1. You say there's no sound. That includes headphones, output jack, everything? However you are outputing the sound, use a different cable to make sure that isn't the issue. Did you check the "level" knob on the back? I know it sounds simple, but I sweated for about 10 min at a rehearsal thinking my XT had died before I realized I had turned the level the wrong direction...
  2. hold the model knob tightly and pull up, away from the guitar. It will slide off of the shaft. Once off, push down on the shaft and see if it turns the modelling on.
  3. it may not be an issue with your battery, but the model knob. pull the knob up, or completely off and then depress it to see if it comes on. Also, make sure the volume is turned up and you have the cord plugged in.
  4. Just remember that there's no support on the xt anymore, so if something goes wrong, you're pretty much toast.

  6. One thing I would try is to see if you can turn the different effects on and off using Gearbox. If so, that would point to maybe a pedal issue. If you can't turn them on and off in Gearbox, then maybe its a firmware, or pod hardware issue. Is it all the pedals that aren't working or just the effects pedals?
  7. Mine will do that once in a while. Reflashing the memory fixes it for me. Just remember that you will lose any modified patches if not saved.
  8. if its a choice between a 700 an JTV, and you have an HD500, get the JTV. You might as well take advantage of the functionality you have in the hd500.
  9. Better, more consistent wood. More attention to detail. A little less "mass produced". I think the variation in quality would be less in the US guitars. Whereas, with a Korean model, your guitar may have been perfect, there's someone out there that got a real lemon. In my case, I don't think any US guitars would have shipped with a model knob that needs paper stuffed up in it so that it doesn't slide down the shaft, making it unusable. Or a volume knob that was so loose that you could wobble it an 1/8in.
  10. Has this worked before or is this the first time doing it? Offhand, sounds like a driver issue. Use the following link to double check everything: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/effects/pod/pod-20-podxt-family-pocket-pod-floorpods/pod-xt-series-factory-reset-reflash-and-firm-r491
  11. This sounds like an issue connecting to the Line6 website. were you able to connect using your ID and Password?
  12. I know that the pickups are spec'd per James Tyler. How do they compare with regular strat pickups? Are they hotter? I'm playing with pickup heights and wondered where they should be set as a starting point in respect to strat. I know that its a matter of tone, but I need a starting point. Anyone want to share your pickup heights that you like or advice?
  13. Make sure you've saved off the contents of your POD as a bundle, or just the individual patches that you've created before you reflash the firmware
  14. See if this will help: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/effects/pod/pod-20-podxt-family-pocket-pod-floorpods/podxt-series-troubleshooting-and-calibration-r489
  15. Wow, I'll bet the congregation thought the Spirit had really come down when that volume kicked in! :D The first think I do when I have weird issues with my XTL is reflash the memory. Seems to work for me. have you connected the board to your computer before?
  16. I've not had that specific issue, but have had it not boot up correctly. In those occasions, I have reflashed the firmware and that has fixed it. I would start there. Just make sure you save off any of your modified patches first.
  17. The lights aren't on, so are the mags working? Is the fact that you can't switch it into modelling mode? It may be the knob on the modelling switch. some of the knobs are drilled too deep, so it moves down to the point where you can't depress the switch. pull the knob off of the modelling switch and see if the switch works by itself. If it works, stuff some paper up inside the knob so that it won't slide down the switch too far.
  18. the volume pot on my new jtv69 is very loose. It looks like removing the pickguard is the way to get to it. Will I void my warranty by removing it to tighten up the mounting?
  19. Ya, I just purchased my jtv69 as an "open box" special... The Line6 tape on the box was still in place. It seems to me that they are trying to move inventory with these specials. The serial number on my guitar starts with W1111, which means that this guitar was made 2 years ago? Maybe they are allowing the older build dates to be priced down to get rid of them?
  20. Ya, I've thought about that. I remember when we changed out the sound system in our church. The old one was so muddy that when we put the new one in, people complained it was too loud, even though the decibels were lower than before. I went ahead and rolled mine forward again to 2.0 so that I could play with Workbench HD.
  21. I've been reading about everyone that rolled back thinking how picky you all were. :) Well, my new JTV69 arrived this afternoon and after inspecting it a little, I upgraded to 2.0. after 10min of playing it, I rolled it back to 1.9. Couldn't believe how thin the strat and semi were. I've been playing a 300, and I think it sounds better.... I love the guitar, though!
