  1. Trying to connect a Moog MP201 multipedal to Helix via EXP 2 and 3 - the Moog uses control voltage/CV out. I recall reading somewhere that the EXPs can be configured to accept CV (the manual only says "CV out", not in), and that the voltages can be configured to some extent within the -3v to +3v range, but I can't figure out how to do it, or if it's even a viable connection as described. Is Helix CV in capable, and configurable? If so, how? While the pedal can output to MIDI, I'd really rather stick with the CV if possible.
  2. There is only one "Ext Amp" controller output on the Helix right now. Many modern and even older amps require at least a couple of "Ext Amp" controller outputs to take full advantage of the channel switching and features available on the amp. Don't know how the "CV" output is wired, but if it is possible it would be nice if there was a way to modify the firmware settings to allow the current "CV" output to double as a second "Ext Amp 2" controller. Both external controllers should allow flexible firmware switching of stereo (TRS) plugs to accommodate as many amps as possible. I think the number of people who have a "CV" requirement will be far less than those who would like to have a second controller output for their amp. You can vote for it here in Ideascale http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Allow-CV-output-to-double-as-a-2nd-Ext-Amp-controller/790054-23508?submitted=1
  3. Richie Castellano, guitarist from Blue Oyster Cult, with a video on how to set up MIDI, External Amp, and CV control. This guy has a knack for making things look easy. I love how he uses the Control (CV) input on a Boss pedal to enable the Helix to control it. This video made me realize that I have a few old pedals with control inputs that I had not considered that I could actually leverage with the Helix. There are a couple of shortcuts he is not aware of yet but for someone who has only owned his Helix for three weeks it is remarkable what he has accomplished and his videos are incredibly helpful. I am learning from him and I have owned the Helix for a year. Won't be the first time or the last that a new user schools me. What a pro! Thanks to mileskb for initially bringing this fellow and his videos to light on the forum and TonyHay over on The Gear Page for bringing this latest video to our attention. Ordinarily I would have just posted this video in the topic mileskb started but the subject matter of this particular video deserves its own heading.
  4. Hi, I can't find anywhere the specification of the CV control voltage output on the Helix - specifically what's the output impedance - in other words, how much current can it drive? I'm intending to use the CV output as another amp switching output (my amp has three remotely switchable functions that I want to automate with Helix) so I'm keen to know whether I can drive a relay coil directly from the CV output, or whether I need to buffer it with a custom-built transistor stage. Any indication would be nice (in fact, a "specifications" section at the back of the manual would be even nicer!! :-))
