After searching online for info others have on Helix Native crashing DAWs, I found very little on the subject. On my older desktop rig, Helix Native runs fine in my DAWs (Cubase, Reaper and Cakewalk by Bandlab). However, on my newer MSI laptop, Helix Native worked ok for a good while, like a couple of weeks of running it every day, and then for no apparent reason, started to crash when attempting to open it on an already existing track, or when trying to load a new instance on a track. Projects saved with Helix Native previously added would open, and Helix Native would work, as long as I didn't click on the Helix Native to try to open it to make a patch change or something. The DAW (it didn't matter which one) would instantly crash. I did several uninstall-reinstalls of Helix Native, and of Reaper and Cakewalk. I did registry edits to delete helix native entries there after uninstalling. The problem remains. Again, it is interesting that my desktop has never had a problem. It's an older Asrock MB Z87 board running a core i7 with 16gb ram. The laptop is a newer core i7 running 32gb ram. The DAWs all work as they should on both computers. Out of all the other guitar plugins I use (Amplitube, Guitar Rigs, and TH3, I like the basic sound of Helix Native the best, like the amp emulations. I am doing more mobile sessions and need to have Helix Native run on the laptop. Any suggestions or solutions? Maybe get an older version of Helix Native? I'm trying to use the latest one (3. something). Thanks

Hi everyone; I use HELIX NATIVE it on my Mac (with Logic Pro X) and it's like a year old, I installed it when i bought the Helix Floorboard. Is is it worth UPDRADING my HELIX NATIVE SOFTWARE??!! Will I lose the Preset Sounds I use/ have on my Logic Projects? Any guidance appreciated and thanks!

Hi everyone, I'm a longtime HX Effects user, and would like to use the HXFX to control Native in the same way as I do for the hardware effects. I'm finding this very cumbersome & slow. For example, in Ableton I've had to first individually map each CC Toggle / Expression value to a "switch" in the plugin's "configure" interface, and if I want one switch to control multiple things (easy on HXFX), I have to assign it to multiple "switches" in "configure". THEN I have to map these switches to the switches inside the Helix Native plugin itself. This wouldn't be so bad if I just had to do it once, but there is seemingly no way to SAVE these mappings anywhere. So I have to continually RE-DO all this, which means it takes ~20 minutes just to insert the plugin. Is there any way to integrate HXN with HXFX better, so that the switches/expression pedals in the plugin itself are mapped (and these mappings are saved)? There's that enticing "MIDI In" indicator bottom right in the plugin, which implies there must be a way for the plugin to directly receive MIDI, but I've never figured this out. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hoping to get some assistance on a persistant issue I've had with Helix Native. I have a constant bit of distortion that I can't get rid of. Here's an example - https://soundcloud.com/derek-eugene/helix-noise This is recorded direct in logic, but it comes through in headphones and monitors as well. I've used a few different interfaces (Focusrite Scarlett, Behringer 204HD, IK Axe I/O, Apollo Twin). This happens with both stock cabs and IRs, the attached clip is using one of the more popular custom patches from the Line 6 site. I don't see any apparent clipping in/out. I've checked the sample rate and it matched between the interface and Logic at 41, and still happens at 48. Any assistance would be awesome!! I love the tones I am getting, aside from that low end distortion. Output 1-2.mp3

I actually bought a Helix Floor unit and am worried it's massive overkill for my abilities, experience, etc. I've played mostly acoustic guitar and bought a few electrics and now feel like I've fallen down the rabbit hole. I wouldn't really know how to create tones, but like the idea of being able to purchase/download patches. I'm a bedroom player, so no gigging application or band application so do I really need a Floor Unit? Should I have just purchased the Helix Native Plug-In for $400 vs. the Floor for $1400. If I buy the Native Plug in and return the Floor unit I'll still need to purchase a FocusRite Scarlett (or something like that), plus I'll need a copy of Pro Tools to basically run the thing, right? Seems like I'm swimming out of my depth, but would appreciate any advice as I'm pretty new to all this amp sim stuff. Thinking I might just need to swim in shallow waters like Amplitube, Guitar Rig, or Tone Bridge.... but I do really want the high level tonal capabilities of Helix and have hired a guy for lessons who may be able to help me fine tune it.
