  1. Is anyone here pretty experienced with automating preset and snapshot changes inside Logic Pro X? I’m having an issue with automating the changes to while sending hotkey messages to control Logic. Curious if my problem is in command center or in the setup of the midi track within Logic. Hotkeys work perfectly until I start to automate patch / snapshot changes. As soon as I add the automation track, the hotkeys glitch out. I've also used MIDI notes instead of hotkeys and still encounter the same issue. So, for example. I’ve got hotkeys set up for play, stop, cycle, next marker, and previous marker. Momentary switches. Works perfectly without issue. Then I add the automation track. When I hit the play button on the Helix, the button acts like a latching button and causes the whole project to glitch out. Only way to fix it is to turn off the Helix and restart Logic. Hopefully I’ve explained this in a semi-understandable way haha thanks in advance for any advice on how to fix this!
  2. I've got Helix Floor with HX Edit. After updating to 3.60 I noticed changes to my USER preset -- footswitch buttons / assigned stomps changed. Update from 3.50 to 3.60 went fine (the restore from backup took longer than I've experienced before I think). Note I followed recommendation to factory reset (everything, button 8&9) before restoring from backup. Issue: in my USER presets, I noticed that only the top buttons showed my pre-assigned "stomp" effects (originally assigned via touching buttons). I was expecting to see the top and bottom rows with my pre-assigned "stomp" effects (or blank if unassigned). I checked Global Settings >> Footswitches and changed the 2nd setting/knob and couldn't find "stomp/stomp" option, but other various combinations of "snap", "stomp" and "preset". I tried changing the other setting/knobs to see what I could achieve, but no luck. On that 2nd setting/knob option, if I select the "stomp/???" I see my top row of pre-assigned stomp effects I was expecting, and "???/stomp" I see the bottom row of pre-assigned stomps...but no "stomp/stomp" setting option to display both top/bottom rows! Note, I also tried a 2nd reset to factory / restore from backup but same results. So either I'm an idiot and forgot how I got all pre-assigned stops to display, or something changed going from 3.5 to 3.6. Thanks for any help in getting back to a "stomp/stomp" view that displays my pre-assigned button-to-stomp effects.
  3. We're sure you'll have a great experience with your Helix. As with anything, be sure to regularly back up your presets, and in the event anything unexpected happens while using your Helix, please perform one or more of the steps below while powering on your unit. If your Helix ends up in a bad state due to a failed firmware update try rebooting the Helix/Helix Rack while entering update mode by holding down footswitches 6+12 (Helix/LT) or encoders 1+6 (Rack). You should see "Entered Update Mode" on the screen, once this is done properly. Then you can re-connect to Line 6 Updater. You may need to manually resume the update using Line 6 Updater (NOT HX Edit). Make sure all other recording software is closed on your system. Make sure to try this out on different USB ports, or multiple computers in case of poor USB connections, or if the the Helix doesn't connect at all with update mode, or its regular boot-up. Further info on the update process can be found here: Helix Floorboard/LT 1. Holding footswitch 5+6 on boot restores Global parameters 2. Holding footswitch 7+8 on boot restores presets and setlists ”THIS WILL OVERWRITE ALL USER PRESETS AND SETLISTS 3. Holding footswitch 10+11 on boot will rebuild your presets in the latest loaded firmware 6. Helix can now restore by clearing only the current preset instead of wiping out all presets. While holding footswitches 11 + 12 7. Helix can now, after firmware 1.06.5, enter update mode manually by holding footswitches 6 + 12 Helix Rack Since the rack doesn't have footswitches, you'll instead hold down a combination of the 6 encoders that are below the main LCD screen as you're booting up. 4. So A couple weeks ago I noticed my helix floor isn’t reading my taps correctly. To be specific; every time I’m playing a song, the first tap almost always jumps up to 240bpms. I have to give it a couple of taps to get it closer to what I’m playing it. I’ve read that the tap tempo on the helix isn’t the best. However it wasn’t this bad when I first got it. Please help. The tuner seems to work fine.
  5. Hi peeps! Today I notice that the expression pedal was not aligned properly, and was actually scraping the left side of the gap in the metal. The whole pedal was slightly off kilter off center. I took the included hex key and loosened the bolt a little. Then I moved the pedal with my foot. Nothing helped. Until I pressed the pedal in (as in to switch between Exp 1 and Exp 2) and it re-aligned itself. I then tightened the bolt and it seems to be back to normal. So did I break it or is this normal? I barely use this particular Helix, only when I play gigs. thanks!

    Helix Floor or LT

Hello, After testing a Helix LT for a week, I know that this is the device I need (compared to the Boss, which I also tested). Now the question is: LT or Floor? The LT is clearly not bad but the build quality of the Floor seems to be better as well as the expression pedal. The screen strip above the footswitches also seems to be good (although I couldn't test it) and more intuitive than referring to the screen to know which snapshot corresponds to which footswitch. After that, I'm not sure I need so many effects loops and I might use the mic input (but for recording purposes)... To sum up: Floor: build quality, expression pedal and screen strip and possibilities for mic input LT : less expensive... Your opinion ?
  7. Hello, I recently purchased a Helix Floor and Helix Native license and am just getting started with using them with my MacBook Pro. Although they are both overkill for my playing/recording needs, I was originally in the market for some high-end effects pedals an Apogee GiO guitar interface, so buying a Helix Floor seemed like a better move so I can take advantage of all of the effects in one portable unit (not to mention all of the other features). The Apogee GiO is an older floor-based guitar USB interface for Mac that has programmable effects stomp buttons along with transport control buttons. It's a plug-n-play device for Macs using Logic Pro X, MainStage, and GarageBand. I ultimately chose the Helix Floor and Helix Native so I could do all of that plus take it with me for use with my Marshall combo amp. I have played around with the Helix Floor and the Helix Native plug-in and I love the common interface and ease-of-use. I have watched several YouTube videos on how to create your own macro buttons so I can use the Helix Floor to Record/Stop/Play, etc.;however, most of what I have seen are running older versions of the software, so the menus are somewhat different. My hope is that someone has built a template that I can use similar to what Apogee offers for their GiO product (they offer pre-built, downloadable templates). I understand how the Helix Native plug-in works with the Apple Pro Audio apps; but I need some help setting my my Helix Floor for basic, home recording use. MacBook Pro running High Sierra (10.13.2 Developer Beta) LogicPro X (10.3.2) MainStage 3 (3.3.2) GarageBand (10.2.0) My needs are very basic as I am just playing around at home. I am running the latest builds of the audio apps and appreciate any advice or feedback you can provide. Thank you so much! David
  8. Hi everyone! First of all, I am from Argentina, sorry for my english. Here is my problem: I have purchased a Helix Floor the last week. Everything was going OK with the product until I tried to connect the pedal to my desktop PC (Windows 10) using the USB output with the aim of edit my presets easily (its a little bit tedious to do it manually having the possibility to do if from my PC). The problem is I am not able to do anything using my PC because as soon as I connect the USB cable, the OS says "DRIVER IS UNAVAILABLE"... that is, HELIX appears in my SETTINGS as a KEYBOARD but with that legend below (DRIVER IS UNAVAILABLE). Has anyone has the same problem in the past? As far as I know, my Helix has the last Firmware installed (3.11.0), so, thats not the problem as I read in several topics. Thanks a lot to everyone!!! GABRIEL
  9. I've got a smashed screen, I need to access the global settings, to return the device into 10 stomp box mode can this be done through the Editor, or is there a cheeky short-cut button combo? Thanks
  10. Hello everyone! I’ve just uploaded two videos on my YouTube channel (more coming soon). Free Helix patch inside; if you like take a look and join my channel! 11. Helix Floor Firmware 2.81 Upgraded direct from 2.71 about 5 gigs ago. The previous gigs on 2.81 went fine but tonight something went very wrong. Booting went straight to snapshots mode (I don't use snapshots) and there was no way to return to my patches . The 'cancel' option was displaying on the mode button which should have taken me back to my patches, but it didn't do anything, nor did pressing both bank buttons together which also should have returned to patches. I checked globals, tried setting to 8 presets (usually use stomp/preset) and also tried changing setlist to FACTORY 1 (to rule out a problem with my user patches). I rebooted about 10 times but there was no way out of snapshots view. The only way I could save the gig was when I discovered if I use the bank button it would allow me to select a patch, but once selected it goes straight back to snaps view and then I had to press bank down twice to get it back to the same row of patches, and I had to do this for the rest of the night with every patch change. Resetting globals (5&6) and the issue appears to be gone which suggests a bug or some corruption of the settings, even if the globals had been changed (which were definitely not changed by me since the previous gig 2 days earlier) , I should have been able to toggle back to patches by pressing bank up/down at the same time, or cancel (which the mode button was displaying), plus I checked globals several times and it was definitely still set to stomp/preset. I also think my sound was affected, very harsh like pad was turned off even though it said it was on in global settings.
  12. Hello All, I am a fairly new Helix Floor and Helix Native owner and am wanting to purchase one or two Mission Engineering expression pedals for wah and other effects while using the built-in Helix expression pedal for volume. There appears to be two different models that are offered for Line 6 products (SP1-L6H and the EP1-L6). The only difference I can tell is the ability to use the toe switch to turn the effect(s) on and off. This is exactly what I am looking to do, but the SP1-L6H only seems to be fully-functional with the Helix Rack. The EP1-L6 appears to be for other Line 6 products without the toe switch feature. Since the SP1-L6H is designed specifically for the Helix, will I be able to use this pedal to turn wah on and off without having to dedicate the a stomp button on the Helix Floor itself? My assumption is no since there is not an expression pedal switch input on the Helix Floor. Just want to to confirm. I appreciate anyone's help. Thank you. Thanks, David
  13. It would be nice if we had a function to have a tuner always on in a scribble strip of the TAP or the pedal strip. just a simple one like in the G70 wireless. Pretty handy for live use when you feel one string is a little out of tune and you have no time to mute for tuning. fast and no dropout of guitar playing. wen in tune the scribble strip invert the b/w color
  14. Hello, I'm new here. I was hoping to get some help with my Helix Native install and Helix Floor pedal. I just discovered HX Edit this afternoon and very much enjoyed how both the pedal and the software are synced. I was surprised and disappointed to find that this same configuration didn't port over to Helix Native on launch. I came from a Guitar Rig setup where the pedal could navigate and interact with the plugin. I didn't put much effort into that pedal, so I was kind of expecting the same results. Can anyone tell me how make Helix Native sync up like HX Edit does in FL Studio with my Helix Floor pedal? Thank you kindly for your help!
  15. I actually bought a Helix Floor unit and am worried it's massive overkill for my abilities, experience, etc. I've played mostly acoustic guitar and bought a few electrics and now feel like I've fallen down the rabbit hole. I wouldn't really know how to create tones, but like the idea of being able to purchase/download patches. I'm a bedroom player, so no gigging application or band application so do I really need a Floor Unit? Should I have just purchased the Helix Native Plug-In for $400 vs. the Floor for $1400. If I buy the Native Plug in and return the Floor unit I'll still need to purchase a FocusRite Scarlett (or something like that), plus I'll need a copy of Pro Tools to basically run the thing, right? Seems like I'm swimming out of my depth, but would appreciate any advice as I'm pretty new to all this amp sim stuff. Thinking I might just need to swim in shallow waters like Amplitube, Guitar Rig, or Tone Bridge.... but I do really want the high level tonal capabilities of Helix and have hired a guy for lessons who may be able to help me fine tune it.
  16. Snapshots do not store or recall the EXP 1 and 2 assignment. So when you engage the Toe Switch, the onboard pedal switches between EXP 1 and EXP 2 assignment, but Snapshots do not account for that since they only store the Wah or Volume blocks On/Off bypass state. There is a workaround however. You can connect a pedal to Helix's EXP 2 jack (or even just a dummy 1/4 plug in the jack) that forces the onboard pedal to remain always as EXP 1, thus it won't change and the Snapshots are recalled as expected.
  17. Hello! Is there in Helix Floor, any posibility to sync tempo-based effects to external midi-clock? Always when i'm sending tempo, TAP blinks blue, thats fine. But if choose like filter step-frequency (or any other tempo-based parameter) to for example 1\4, it does nothing, not matching external-BPM. The same is for delay, tremolo, phaser etc.

  19. Can anyone reccomend a definitive 'best option' for extra expression pedals for the helix? I have the helix pedal version not the rack and have ordered a roland ev-5 for an extra expression pedal but am now worried that theres no toe switch on the ev-5 so wont be able to use switching on it? I also wondered if anyone could shed any light on the possibility of being able to use the Helix Control floorboard for the rack, but with the pedal version?? I use quite a lot of switches for signal paths stuff, like between multiple amps and IR's/cabs so doesn't leave much room for actual effects switching?? Thanks in advance!!
  20. Hey guys. I want to buy Floor POD Plus from a guy, but he has no power supply for it. I wanted to buy 9v AC 2000mA adapter for it, because i read that it's the default power supply for this POD, but it's expensive in here. Can I use an adapter with less miliampers than 2000? Like 1300 or smth? I can't find any information about this on the internet.
