alexisltd
This new version of HD can do spillover in patch changes? that was the basic reason why I sold the hd 500 even liking the sound of the device but for me without this function, theres no use for this new device in the music i do (ambience stuff)

TheRealZap
highly doubtful the new version will do spillover between patches... as that requires the old tone to be loaded and all its DSP in play while also introducing the new tone and all its required DSP... which is more than likely over the DSP limit....by a factor of 2x, if your patches need loads of DSP.... the m series is not outdated... still features on the pedal boards of many pro's essentially the new version HD500x is a HARDWARE upgrade.... don't expect much if anything in the software department. phil_m
effects in the new pod hd remain the same, outdated M series? How does an effect actually become outdated? The Edge still uses the Korg SDD-3000 delays in his rack, and those were originally released in 1983. There are of the core effects in the M-series that I think are really good. It would be nice to see some additions, I suppose.
Melodyshine
I don't understand why they don't do this. When there is more processing power then spillover in patches should have been possible (as long as you don't use more effects than with the HD500)
spaceatl
The reason you do not understand is that it is one of those things that is easy to say...spillover...nuff said....well, that isn't the reality...if it really was that easy, we would have patch spill... Huyseman
I have the HD500 and i will not buy the X version for a hardware upgrade.. I thought this version would have spillover and i was very happy for the new release but now i see it's pointless. I use a lot of delays and it's really a pain (without spillover) when changing presets
TheRealZap
it's not really supposed to be an upgrade for most people... apparently not for you.... the only way to get spillover, probably ever, is to put a second pod in the loop... its just not suitable for your needs i guess... not a problem... i bet sony made 100 tv's this year that you aren't going to buy as well... Huyseman
i bet sony made 100 tv's this year that you aren't going to buy as well... I have a Panasonic... I've had beans, Pod XT Live, Pod X3 Live (a M13 too) and now the HD500 - As you can see i've always upgraded my Line6 products. That "Sony" argument was quite childish and you should really respect the feedback of "loyal" costumers.
TheRealZap
i'm just a loyal user like yourself, who happens to know a thing or two... i don't owe you anything respect or otherwise... i'm simply telling you that if this feature is that important to you... then this is not the product for you. basically they'd have to double nearly everything internally to do what you want... and they'd lose alot of loyal customers if the price doubled and nothing but one feature was added. kmoed
It would be wonderful to have one box do it all..... I have an Eventide Space and Timefactor in the loop of my HD500, Sounds wonderful.. and spills over.. They have a new H9 pedal out , Worth looking into, Not super cheap, but worth every penny. Particularly if you are doing ambient music.
alexisltd
With all respect i dont think spillover function its something complicated at all....digitech and boss gt series (except gt 100 ) have been doing this 15 years ago
TheRealZap
well yeah.... and they probably did it with the processing needs of their 25 year old code... easy enough... you can no doubt race the crap out of a golf cart with a corvette engine in it.... it's a lot harder to race a corvette with a golf cart engine. phil_m
Based on Line 6's stance on spillover for the last ten years or so - my prediction...
