bonind
I am currently using a Axe II and am very happy with the sound but the nice interface, pretty lights and price of the Helix have me very tempted. My current gig requires me to do some keyboard sounds with my Axe. I do some modified shimmer type pads and some Pog like organ sounds on several songs and haven't really seen any demos of the Helix doing this kind of thing. It looks like it is capable from the list of effects but I wondered if anyone had any real world experience? Thanks!
jeremyn
I'm interested in this too. I'd love to see a nice synth pad effect added to the Helix. Think Boss SY-300 or, even better Roland GR-55.
lulu_m
My roland gr-55 talking nicely with the Helix! Still working on more integration and patches (I only have the Helix since a couple of days) so maybe I'll post some sounds in the future. duncann
I don't know about Helix but the POD HD series can do stuff like that shown in the clip below here: thread link: http://line6.com/support/topic/13798-hd500-synth-patches-video/ This is one reason I still have to treasure my HD500X. Helix can't come close to stuff like this yet.
Leftzilla
I think that "Yet" is the key word here. To the OP I would definitely think that these type of effects will migrate to Helix (This capability was definitely there in the HD series so why wouldn't you have them for Helix? as by this topic you can definitely see the interest). We have already seen new effects and Amplifiers in the current updates and will be seeing more once 1.06 becomes available. I guess you will have to decide whether you need "faith" to purchase now, or "patience" to see if these will be added to HELIX.

I'm actually considering picking up an HD bean to use for some of this stuff. It could also serve as an emergency backup should (God forbid) anything happen to my Helix. I just wish the bean had MIDI IO. That would make it perfect!

ts14064shred
To any Helix owner running a Boss SY-300 into the Helix loop: What ins and outs do I use on the SY-300 to run into the Helix? Do I still plug my guitar into the Helix, or into the SY-300? Thank you in advance. I just don't want to fry any gear.
