Line 6 Staff squeaky expression pedal answer?

(dumb) question: does one have to take the bottom off of the Helix, to access the hex adjustment of the expression pedal? I noticed a squeak recently but it's not horrible (yet).

The hex adjustment is accessed from the side of the unit.

Post #35 above by Aceaj78 says the parts that cause the squeaking can be fixed without taking the bottom off. He'd make a better surgeon than me cause it looks like there's hardly any room at all to apply a lubricant that way without getting gunk in places you don't want gunk.

I just went out this morning and grabbed a tiny container of silicone grease, popped off the back and greased up the rod that goes through the exp pedal (the one you adjust with an allen wrench for your exp pedal tightness) now its dead quiet! So happy it was an easy DIY fix! Don't even bother sending it in, it's super easy to do yourself.

I didn't see any LT-specific details about how to remove the cover, so to do it I had to unscrew all the screws on the bottom of the unit and then remove the two plastic side panels, plus two screws on the back of the unit. Once I did, I applied some lithium grease after first loosening the large axle bolt on the outside of the pedal so that some space was made between the internal plastic washer and the metal. I was careful not to touch any circuitry. I applied using a toothpick, and then cleaned up excess with a Q-tip before closing it all up. It worked really well. The only issue i found was one partially stripped screw from factory assembly, plus the bone dry axle.

I have had my Helix Floor for exactly 2-weeks now.  Last night, the Expression pedal started sqeaking obnoxiously loud.  I had my HD500X since 2020, and never had a problem with it.   I opened a Ticket on this, but am waiting for reply.  I have read in these forums that several people have lubed the pedal on their own, but I am afraid of voiding my warranty.

Has anyone ever sent their Helix back to Sweetwater for repair?  I am hoping that they are an Authorized Repair Center, and that their repair staff "Has a Clue!"

I have sent Helix for a repair of an LED light.  It was returned to me within 2 weeks.  But I did have to escalate it due to other reasons.

If the Helix is 2 weeks old, then it's a problem, and you should return in for a refund.  Otherwise, if everything is structurally sound, then all is needed is lithium grease and tightening a few screws.  I've greased my pedal 5 years ago and not a peep to this day.  All it takes is taking the back off, and adding a generous amount of grease.  I didn't have to disassemble anything, but I did have to tighten the screws of the "claw" that attaches to the actual pedal mechanism.  On my Helix, those screws were loose, so the pedal started getting crooked, and was scraping against the side and also was getting loosened from that.

Some people say lithium grease is bad for plastic.. in my case no issues.

I found online a YouTube video from Line6Support.  It a little over 6 minutes long.   Cleaning & Lubrication Procedure for Helix Pedal Assembly

It describes how to open the Helix Floor up, how to determine if you have the "correct" bushings inside of it, and, Oh yeah, explicitly states that "if you choose to perform this rework yourself, you do so at your own risk."

I just emailed my Sales Rep at Sweetwater, and told him what is going on.  Line 6 Service told me that Sweetwater may replace it.   Line 6 does not seem to want to be responsible for their product.

I have had my HD500x since February of 2020, and it has worked flawlessly.  I guess that I should not have expected consistancy from Line 6.
