dankleiner
Hello, all: What is the step by step procedure for downloading 3rd party IRs that are in the .wav format into the Helix? Thank you.
PeterHamm
U do this on your computer in the Helix application (Librarian, now editor). There is a tab for Impulse Responses, you literally just drag your file to the slot you want it in.
Digital_Igloo
From page 28 of the Helix Owner's Manual: Loading Custom IRs Loading custom impulse responses requires connecting to the Helix application in your Mac® or Windows® computer. The Helix application is available as a free download from line6.com/software. Connect Helix to your computer via USB and open the Helix application. Click the Impulses tab. Drag one or more IR files from the desktop or any Finder window directly into the Helix app's Impulses list.
specracer986
I'm having trouble loading IR's into my patches. I have 40 IR's imported into my Impulses list. When I select an empty block and then highlight Impulse Responses, the only IR's available are two samples. I can't seem to get an IR from my list into the patch. I've tried copy and paste, but paste is blacked out in the block. I've tried dragging an IR to a block, but it doesn't latch. To reiterate: I'm not having trouble importing IR's into the editor. I'm having trouble getting them into the patch.
Digital_Igloo
From either the hardware or editor, add an Impulse Response block. With the IR block selected, either: Drag an IR file from the Impulses tab onto the IR Select slider. As you drag, you'll see the parameter outlined. —OR— Drag the IR Select slider right to select the desired IR from the Impulses list You can't drag an IR directly to the signal flow view, as they're not blocks—they're files for utilizing within either a 1024 or 2048-sample IR block (if you can't hear the difference, always choose 1024).
specracer986
"IR Select Slider" were the magic words I was missing. So as I extend the slider, what ever IR is showing up on the right is active?
specracer986
Okay, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I hadn't tried moving that slider and hadn't noticed the IR names on the right side of the slider. Now that I have all of these IR's available, I'm going to go nuts tweaking. browningralan
I am having the same issue as specracer986 and the IR Selector slider doesn't seem to be helping me or I potentially have a different issue. I can load IR's onto my Surface but when I import them into HX editor they are unuseable.

Hi, The best place to start is to follow the advice given above, from “Digital Igloo”, who suggests reading about the subject in the owner’s manual. Page 28 Helix Owner’s Manual Failing that, Jon from SDS posted a video guide in this forum way back in Feb 2017. Follow these examples and you can’t go wrong.
