I just ordered my 500x.I had a 500 & sold it as I wasn't fully satisfied.Does the 500x also have only 30 amps on it? Do we have free access to the available model packs.I remember x3 owners had such privileges to upgrade freely to the model packs. Are the amps any different between the 500 & 500x Pods?

WAIT....

I have to explain this to you.

If you install the updates that are available, the 500 is light years ahead of where it was when it was initially released (in 2010). I think we are now up to 60 amps/preamps (plus the ones you can buy).

I love buying used 500's from guys who didn't update, and therefore think that the 500x is so far more advanced that they needed to have it. I did tell one guy about how much he just wasted his money when all he needed to do was update. I didn't buy the unit, but it was pretty fun making him feel stupid.

The 500 and 500x are the same units in terms of software. Just a few minor hardware tweaks.

If you did not like the 500, you will not like the 500x.

Nor will you like.... probably anything. If you did not like the 500, you are most likely dissatisfied with something in your life and you are projecting those feelings onto the units.

>>>assuming you bought the 500 knowing what it was. I mean, we've have seen some people try to plug their 500 into a speaker cabinet and were not happy that there was no power section. I'd be unsatisfied too if I had expected a power amp, lol.

As someone who just sold his beloved HD 500 because I use Helix now... I couldn't agree more. The HD 500 is a fantastic sounding box. If you can't make it sound good, learn it better and you can.
