silverhead
What device is providing phantom power to your condenser mic? What device is connected to your computer that reaper communicates with?

Triryche
Also, make sure you're launching the standalone POD Farm. The plug-in will have no input options.
Triryche
Also run the Monkey to make sure your divers are up to date. Depending on when this unit was first registered, you may be entitled to POD Farm 2.
BillBee
Try going into the mixer view in PF select mic as your source. The UX2 has a phantom power button AND volume controls on top. What Triryche sez is true - my UX2 -> PF2.
slappyjoe
Hi yes, deleted and reinstalled drivers as they werent working at start so line6 & pod farm should be fine..all lights green! And notification of registration received
slappyjoe
Billybee..That's the advice I was following on thread but no drop-down menu below line 6 logo to choose Mic input
BillBee
There should be a "mixer view" - I'm not at home so I can't fire PF up but its there, unless its for PF standalone. :) BTW I know what you are going through I went hunting for it myself years ago. slappyjoe
Stand alone pod farm?
silverhead
Pod Farm runs either stand alone (without using a DAW like reaper for recording) or as a plug-in for processing signalks within a DAW like reaper. Since you are using Reaper for recording, have you tried selecting the UX-2 MIC as the record input in Reaper? In other words after arming the Reaper track for recording select the track's Record Input source in Reaper rather than within Pod Farm. BillBee
BTW be sure you've ran the Monkey and got all green checks for the UX and then went through the License Manager for the UX as well. Then fire up PF2.5. There should be an "inputs tab" if its all good. I would get the vocals going first with PF then fire up Reaper. Depending on the age of the UX you might have to go to PF1 (free) if PF2.5 isn't authorized.

BillBee
Yes you can buy PF as a standalone meaning you do not have to have the UX plugged in in order to use it. When you bought the UX it came with the ability to use PF (as its dongle). So if you have a UX you have to have it plugged in and connected for PF. If you bought PF on its own its all good. Was driving me nuts! Right next to the Line 6 emblem (About Button) in the middle to the right is the Mixer View button. Page 3.23 of the manual - input source menu is at the top. Hope that works for ya.
Triryche
Stand alone pod farm? By standalone I was referring to the direct monitoring mode of POD Farm, not the actual standalone hardware independent version BilBee is referring to. You can launch POD Farm from a desktop shortcut or the start menu, which would be the Tone Direct Monitoring monitoring, or you can launch it as VST plug-in from within Reaper, that version will not have mic/instrument input selections as it uses the track you apply it to as the input. When do get it sorted, you can capture the processed sound you hear along with the unprocessed signal and then apply the POD Farm plug-in post processioning . BillBee
The mixer view button would be the first button to the right of the logo not below. If its not there then I am sure one of the fellas might know. But that how I've used it myself.

silverhead
Yes. So in reaper after arming the vocal track for recording, select the UX2 mic as the track's recording input source.

silverhead
Hmmm.... I think you should open a support ticket to work directly with Line 6 tech support on this. http://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html
BillBee
Wow I was hoping this was fixed. Well a couple of questions: Have you ran the L6 Monkey and did everything come up "green checks"? Next Run the L6 License Manager and Make sure it is registered and Authorized, k? That was all for the UX getting connected and making sure "it's all good". So if the UX is connected and all drivers and stuff are good then, Start Pod Farm and go to the about screen - IIRC its under the "help tab". It should tell you if the UX is good and authorized to run that version of Pod Farm. Some UXs are authorized for PF1 some are for PF2 btw. Can you get the mic to work with just the UX and Pod Farm (no Reaper)? Can you try a non-phantom powered mic? You have to get the PC to "see" the UX and/or the mic. BTW - silly question but does the UX and PF work for guitar in? :)
slappyjoe
Pod farm2 about tells me I'm running in trial mode , all line 6 software fine (green)
Triryche
Is this a new unit? If so you need to run license manager. If it is not new, depending on when it was first registered, you may only be entitled to POD Farm 1. IIRC the cutoff date was Oct 2010, but don't quote me. Getting back to mic selection, did you try launching from the desktop? (Not as a VST within Reaper) That is how you can get to the mic selection. slappyjoe
ok lads..latest. condenser mic up n running, pod farm says connected to ux2 and shows mic1 in the dropdown mid left..dont know what i did apart from downloading the software again..its not a new unit bought second hand but pristine ,,dont think was ever used..when i go to reaper i have just the input mono and input stereo send 1/2 but mic is recording. not sounding great on mic, is it just a case of playing around with it now and where should i go on pod farm for best mic sound...gear/panel/presets..etc? think i see now that i can run effects from pod farm on pc or on reaper .. thanks a million for your patience , no doubt ill be back ..hope i can be of similiar life saving help to someone in same boat! Triryche
think i see now that i can run effects from pod farm on pc or on reaper .. A workflow I like is to capture unprocessed and processed simultaneously. In Reaper’s preferences enable all 4 inputs from the UX2. Arm 2 tracks to record. One track will be 1/2 and the other 3/4. Then in POD Farm’s mixer allocate one pair of sends unprocessed and the other processed. With this method you will have the your dry track that you can then apply the POD Farm plug-in to for tweaking after recording just in case you are not happy with the processed. Btw, I think there may be some vocal presets in POD Farm to use as starting points.
