spikey
Hehe well theres about 3 million choices out there Shred. For DAWS theres Cakewalks Sonar, Cubase 8.5, Pro tools 12.x, and many others. I assume that you are going to use Helix for the audio interface. Lots of people do that here , but there are many others that are "dedicated" for that purpose ONLY. MOTU, UAD, Focusrite, etc etc. Then, once you get Windows 7 up and running one of the most important things to do is to get your OS "set-up" for audio recording, so that there are no drop outs and latency issues. And believe me Windows 7 does NOT come setup for that. That said, its not hard to do, once you get all the updates and such installed. There are many sites with this Windows 7 "audio setup info", so just google setting up Windows 7 for a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). and you will find them. Also, don't use your PC for for gaming, and porn sites, and also audio work. I know that there are some that disagree with me on this, but a dedicated and setup digital audio workstation works better when thats ALL it does, in my experience. Toontracks Easy Drummer II is the best drummer software to start out with, and its very powerful as well. If you don't have a bass, then "Trillian" from Spectrasonics is a great program for the low end. Thats a start, and will take you a while doing reading and research. Of course thats a pin prick on an elephant as far as lots more to choose from. Hope this helps!

cclement
I'm a big fan of Presouns StudioOne - http://www.presonus.com/products/Studio-One I've been using it for several years now. They also make a decent free version if you are new to the DAW world and just want to get your feet wet.

DunedinDragon
Got my DAW. Trying to cop ezdrummer2. I mean as far as helix goes. I was told I needed some kind of driver or something...... The driver should have been downloaded as part of the Helix Editor I believe. As far as EZDrummer, that's serial number protected and registered, so I doubt you find anyone willing to "share" their copy. However, Addictive Drums does have a downloadable demo version you can try out I think for 30 days. Personally, I used to use EZDrummer until I got a copy of Addictive Drums as part of the package I bought with Sonar Platinum. It's a much more comprehensive drum plug-in. You can download the demo at: https://www.xlnaudio.com/addictivedrums
