d0stenning
Question to L6 -Eric Klein - USB output on the HELIX Control - the manual says: " USB Reserved for potential future use." Given how the HELIX Control unit connects to the Rack - does the bandwidth capacity between control and rack over that special connector allow for - in future - this USB connector to support audio data throughputs? ... ( both ways) ? ( as opposed to just low bandwidth stuff like MIDI etc )Clearly i'm wondering if in future the USB on Helix control could be used - with iPads etc.. phil_m
This has come up before, and the answer is no. It's not an issue of bandwidth in the Cat5e cable, but it's just that the Helix Control doesn't have the sort of hardware and firmware inside of it to make processing audio a possibility. cruisinon2
Mind control port...for after the govt chips us all, and had us showing up for weekly thought downloads. ;)
daveyball
How about being able to restore your patches settings etc from the USB port with a USB stick, rather have to carry a laptop with you.
PeterHamm
I'm pretty sure the ONLY thing Control can do is act as a remote. So... I'd say that the one possibility is using Control with Helix Native with no Helix Rack in between. There will never be audio or MIDI solutions between Control and a computer other than that I'll wager.
