Zoohead
I've had my Helix for a short time. I love the unit, and I was still just exploring the sounds with version 1.xx.x or something. One of the sounds inspired me to write a song, I think it was Late Night Swim or Night Time Swim, then I plugged in one morning and the sound level was greatly diminished. I could not figure out why, so with prompting from support, I installed the newest firmware and it was fixed. But that factory preset seems to be gone. I there a way to get it back? Other sounds don't quite make it on the Helix or my Kemper.
MonkeyXT
I'm looking through my backups - I see that I have a preset from the factory 1 setlist saved right after I installed firmware 2.00 - there are two similar factory preset names: Nighttime Drown Nighttime Swim I see that the Nighttime Swim one looks to be the correct one. ... I don't see an option to attach a file here - perhaps you can let me know how to get the preset to you.
Joepeggio
To attach file add .txt to the end of file name

Don't forget you have to rename the files .hlx instead of .txt to have them load into Helix Editor. Happy Trails! Use 'em or lose 'em! Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. The Helix is awesome, but I'm a total noob when it comes to creating/editing sounds. Unlike those on the forum who dump all presets and start form scratch on the first day, I have to have a starting point. But they are like Gods to me, and this thing is pretty deep, so it will take a lot of effort to get close to that level. I'm a 60 year old couch sitting guitar player, so presets give me inspiration and really show off a lot of what this thing can do. Thanks again! Zoohead
I guess I should have asked how to get the presets in the Helix. I don't use it connected to my Mac, but I know I have to do that. So do I move them into the Line 6 folder first, or what?

Don't worry - you are a mere child compared to some users on here, (me included). O.K. to get the presets uploaded into Helix you will need to hook it up via the USB cable into a port on the Mac like you did for the Firmware upgrade. Then launch the Editor software on the Mac and in the column on the lefthand side under "PRESETS" there should be a list of the factory tones available. But, also at the top of the column there is slot named "FACTORY 1" in orange type, click on the small orange triangle and it should reveal other options "USER 1", "USER 2" etc. You need to navigate to an empty user slot, for example "USER 2" 10A. Highlight the empty slot by clicking on it, then from the top of the column select "Import" (white text). This will open a window where you navigate on your Mac to where the files are. Select the one you need and it should import into the slot 10A and also appear on you Helix in the same slot. Rinse, repeat! Now play your guitar and enjoy! EDIT: Here's a vid of a guy loading presets - He is doing it on Windows but essentially the same for a Mac.
Zoohead
Thanks man, even a video, I should be good now. Every time I tell my age, feeling like an old buzzard, I told I'm not alone. Usually by someone older, glad we can still feed on this tasty technology.

Zoohead
Thanks to everybody for the help and support, it's working great, and it's good to have the one sound I used in a song back again. I feel like I'm in good hands if I ever have any problems as I learn how things work. I've also have a Kemper and a Digitech 2120 I've had for years. I will play till I die, so I better find a special old folks home for musicians.
