redcloud
Hi! I'm wondering if anybody has tried to add a metal spring to the built-in expression pedal. Could work?
pianoguyy
Why?
cruisinon2
You could add a corkscrew, an ankle holster for a snub nose .38, and a potted ficus if you want...the question would be, for what possible purpose?
duncann
He probably wants the pedal to automatically return to the heel position at the moment when he decides not to use it.
BillBee
Hmmm external exp pedal, loosen the pivot bolt and reverse the 0-100 settings?

Does such a thing exists anywhere else in nature? Never seen one...

redcloud
So I did it! Bought a compression spring 22 millimiters diameter, 50 mm in length and mounted this way It works like a charm!

pianoguyy
And I am going to laugh when you try stomping on the thing in your mom's basement and you end up breaking your $500 unit trying to do the same stage showboating a millionaire does with a $30 pedal that he gets for free. Fyi, Vai didn't have that spring loaded pedal when he was recording it.

Fyi, Vai didn't have that spring loaded pedal when he was recording it. I'm not even trying to imitate Vai. IMHO this way the work you do using wah (or volume) is exactly a half; it's just a mechanical aid that *should* not stress that much the structure of the pedal: the spring is calibrated for 2.5 Kg weight.
