themetallikid
Curious if anyone has created a good Raygun sound....we recently added Rebel Yell back to the list, and previous rigs (Fractal, Boss) I've been able to create a good ray gun using either vibes or delay settings. I don't pretend to understand how the delay makes a good raygun sound.....but it was the best one I've tried. So....any good rayguns out there? Or other fun strange sounds. brue58ski
I have a separate expression pedal aside from the internal one on the floor Helix. Use either the Cosmos Echo or the Transistor Tape delays. Put which ever one you choose before a Marshall amp. Assign one expression pedal to the Feedback and one to the Delay time. Use both feet and enjoy the sonic fun. This is essentially what Tom Sholz of Boston does with his Echo unit to turn it into his "Hyperspace" pedal. You will eventually need to adjust the min and max amounts for the pedals (like reversing the min and max for the delay i.e. make the min the max amount and the max the min amount) but this will give you an idea of what this does.
Dshow
I think you need a ray gun for that ;-) https://youtu.be/OSMZMcQz0NE?t=39s

I don't have a second expression pedal so assigned the feedback to the tone knob on my variax, works great.

That's a great idea. I keep forgetting about that option. Using two feet doesn't work too well. I was going to maybe come up with some kind of contraption like what Mr Scholz did but I think this will work just as well with much less thinking and effort. Embo20910
Any chance you can use the control voltage outputs of a theremin in the EXP2 and EXP3 inputs? You could control all kinds of stuff just by moving around. But I’m guessing plugging a CV into the EXP might be a bad idea.

The depth has to be set to "5" but it works just fine. Since the 8-Step doesn't output over MIDI, I also use the Helix to assign it via EXP3 to MIDI CCs to control outboard gear.
