Slimo
Very new to all this stuff but I have a Helix LT and laptop that I'd like to run through the same set of powered speakers (Mackie CR3) - I assume I will need a mixer of some sort - can anyone recommend me a good mixer? The connection from the laptop is an RCA and I use 1/4" cables from the Helix (although could use XLRs). Thanks!
silverhead
You don't need a mixer. Connect the Helix LT to your computer via USB and connect your speakers to the Helix audio outputs. Configure your computer to use the Helix as its audio device (this should happen automatically but you may need to do it manually). Adjust your computer volume level to balance the levels. soblivion
You could connect the Helix to your laptop via USB and it will be your computer's "sound card". Then connection your Mackies to the Helix via 1/4" cables(which I think you already have).
ShredRex
I connect my Helix to my PC via USB, but have the left and right XLR outs to each desktop monitor respectively. Sounds fantastic.

Same here. I sit in front my MacBook Pro listen to music being routed through the Helix via USB. You're right. The sound IS incredible!
