markbarron416
Brand new JTV-59 opened up box, and is defective. Line6 only offers to Fix this, not exchange. Is this normal? Doesnt’ that make it a Refurbished guitar, not New like I brought?
silverhead
Where/how did you purchase it? If a retailer, will they exchange it?
cruisinon2
Doesnt’ that make it a Refurbished guitar, not New like I brought? Maybe yes, maybe no...It's only "refurbished" if somebody else owned it first and broke it. Then it's taken back, repaired, and re-sold to you. That might be the case...or it's new and just plain old "broken". Either way, 2 things are certain: 1) You'll probably never find out the truth, as retailers are famous for lying through their teeth. 2) It's all semantics anyway...broken is broken. Knowing whether or not somebody else had it first doesn't help you. Whether or not it's repaired or replaced is another question entirely. Depends on what's wrong with it...if it's cheaper for them to fix it than give you a new one, then that's what they're likely to do.
pianoguyy
Because of the laws regarding new/used, when combined with the trade in policy at my store... We sold an organ a dozen times, and legally it was always sold as new with a full manufacturer's warranty.
