Another Shingle has gone bad. How many does that make now? My advice, If you can still return it (for exchange or otherwise), do so. If that's not an option for you, create a ticket for repair with Line 6....
ADBrown
First try updating to the latest firmware using the Line 6 updater software, free at line6.com/software . The most current firmware is 2.52. If you run into any trouble with a failed update or your unit will not boot up, try powering on while holding the right arrow ">" This will put the unit into update mode and you can re install the latest firmware from there. em07189
The updater gives a error and doesnt update. and the unit doesnt boot. This is really not good to line6, how can this be possible?
phil_m
Try holding the right arrow button (>) while powering up. That should put it into update mode, and then you should be able send the new firmware.

em07189
For you line6 expert guys to compensate this problem and my wasted time, to replace the unit. I expect you to do the folowing updates in HX effects: - Allow a 6 snapchots view - Allow to select a color for the footswitches in preset and snapchot view. And lets hope that the following unit that the reseller will send me doesnt have the same problem.
phil_m
Try powering up while pressing down the two switches in the lower right corner if you haven't.

em07189
OK now it boots and the firmware has updated to 2.5, it seems ok now. If the same thing happens again i will have to repeat this process? or this firmware update will solves this issue? I still want you line6 expert and product specialists guys to do the following updates in the HX effects: - Allow a 6 snapchots view - Allow to select a color for the footswitches in preset and snapchot view. No one responding in this thread has any direct say as to what new features are added. You should put any feature requests up on IdeaScale: https://line6.ideascale.com/ Also, fwiw, you can already change the ring color for snapshot switches. It's explained on pages 26 and 27 of the manual.

As Phil has pointed out https://line6.ideascale.com/ is the best place to post feature requests and vote on these requests. It looks like there are already two posts for this feature request you can vote on. https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Give-HX-Effects-more-than-4-snapshots/923714-23508#idea-tab-comments https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/HX-Effects-6-snapshots/922560-23508#idea-tab-comments
regalpierot
Line 6 Dev, Give @em07189 his 'snapchots' immediately per his demands. He had a technical problem so is richly deserving. --- ok hold tight @em, they should be arriving shortly. That's how the universe works mate
spikey
Very simple question if I may. Are all of these " hold these buttons down" steps while doing this or that to the HX listed in the "User" manual in the "trouble-shooting" section (if the machine wont boot up)? If it is then fine, but you know what my next question is gonna be if it's not... Also since I'm on that trail of self-destruction, why would one have to do this to a new HX unit in the 1st place?

em07189
Philm and ADBrow, about the 6 snapchot view.I bought this unit to avoid pedals like many users to avoid tap dancing. So I'm not going to use the stomp box mode much. If you give the possibility of 6 stomp box view why not allow a 6 snapchot view?

I'm an Expert User here, that's it. The project managers for the various decide what new features should be added and such. I do like the idea of having 6 snapshots, but I think it might not be all that easy. It would change the way some of the navigation and UI works. It also means a change to the underlying preset architecture, as every preset now only has 4 snapshots. I imagine that adding more data to each preset in the way of additional snapshot would increase the switching gap when going from one preset to another. em07189
If is user interface we are talking about software it should be easy. The snapchot per preset it should be easy also, in the end you will have less presets capability and more snapshots per preset.
