jstudio123
Good news first....Gigged last night with the helix hx for the first time...worked amazingly well, the amp channel switching is just fantastic, and I found the sounds to be easily comparable with my 'expensive' pedals, with the added bonus of not sucking the tone from the amp when connected. On thing that I notice however, was the LED rings in their off position are too bright. It's difficult when playing live to know if they are off or on. Im using the Helix in Stomp mode, so the colours and identification are important to me...... Any way of dimming them?.
codamedia
I don't think there is a way to dim them more, but you can set it so they are not lit at all when they are off. Global Settings > Displays > LED Ring Lo/Brt is the default, set it to Off/Brt.
brue58ski
Try these. They look like they might be flimsy but I've been using them for over a year now and have had no issues. I got the black ones. https://www.amazon.com/GETMusic-Plastic-Bumpers-Footswitch-Protector/dp/B075TXX5LQ/ref=pd_sbs_267_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B075TXX5LQ&pd_rd_r=a3c2ed89-7977-11e8-a032-4f49798c7b8f&pd_rd_w=3RScN&pd_rd_wg=8OKJo&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=5825442648805390339&pf_rd_r=HR4G9SGJ6N098H4N8Y38&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&psc=1&refRID=HR4G9SGJ6N098H4N8Y38

The downside to this is it renders the capacitive touch feature unusable, which, imo, is almost more important on the HX than on the regular Helix. brue58ski
There are these. https://www.amazon.com/Barefoot-Buttons-Version-2-Clear/dp/B077Y1G3K1/ref=pd_sbs_267_43?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B077Y1G3K1&pd_rd_r=4f047982-789a-11e8-83b9-cb11207450ec&pd_rd_w=Qa1cG&pd_rd_wg=WOOmw&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=5825442648805390339&pf_rd_r=KF8FMZJEDYAEC8VKJVVC&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&psc=1&refRID=KF8FMZJEDYAEC8VKJVVC They have some set screws that are metal and will allow you to use the capacitive touch but they are $10 a button. teddysatrio
Yes, exactly my problem as well, I just turn them off when not engaged through the Global Settings
