Raunline
I need to know which cable I need to get to pair up my Variax 89F to my HD500. Sorry for the newbie question but I just want to make one trip to the store lol. Any help would be great! Thanks
edstar1960
You need a VARIAX VDI cable. It will be an industrial strength version of the one that comes with the guitar to connect to the USB dongle for connecting to your PC. It will have protective casing around both ends instead of just one. You can use the one that came with the 89F just to try things out at home. I would not recommend for a gig though as the unprotected RJ45 end could get broken.

ext1jdh
Any ethercon cable will do. I got the line6 one because it was the cheapest I could get in 25 foot length without making my own.

Well any ethernet cable will do as long as it has the Neutrik ends. Using a cable without those end can actually damage the ports on the guitar and/or the POD pretty easily. ext1jdh
Ethercon = VDI cable. The ends will make it an Ethercon.
phil_m
Ethercon = VDI cable. The ends will make it an Ethercon. My bad... I actually did not realize ethercon was the standard name for that.
