calthompson
For some weird reason the audio from my Helix LT USB records as midi. I have tried Reaper, GarageBand, and Audacity. All of them record the guitar as a midi file, and playback is just individual tones. I have confirmed that I am using the USB out connection and cable. I have confirmed my track output is USB. I have confirmed that I am using the correct input/output for each DAW. I have searched all over and can't find out what setting I have wrong. Can anyone help me out? I'm currently running: 2018 Macbook pro with Helix LT (updated to 2.92) connected via USB.
rd2rk
In Reaper/Options/Preferences/Audio/Device, Is Helix ASIO selected? Are all of the LT Inputs/outputs defined? Is the Input on the Track set to 1 (MONO) or 1/2 (STEREO)? If the above is correct, you are recording Audio. When you Render the track, is this what you're seeing? If YES to all of the above, I got no clue.
SaschaFranck
You must be doing something wrong here because at least in Garageband, you can't record MIDI onto an audio track. Make sure you create a new track and select one of the audio track options.
codamedia
It sounds to me like you created a MIDI track (some DAWs will call it an instrument track) and are trying to record to that. If the Helix is set as the MIDI input, then yes, it would record any midi messages being sent. You need to create an AUDIO track... then choose the appropriate Helix INPUT.

The weird thing with all this being that he's mentioning Audacity as well - from all I know, Audacity is not recording MIDI data at all (at least my pretty much up to date version isn't).
