3.0 update - simple shifter problems

I've been using the simple shifter, to drop my guitar down a half step so I can play with bands who play 1/2 step down without re-tuning my guitars. It worked great with ver 2.92 on the Helix LT. However, the update to 3.0 has caused problems. It seems that even with the mix turned up to 100%, the dry signal is loud enough to cause it to be useless. Any fixes, or work-arounds? I tried a couple of the other shifters to no avail.

TIA

Hi,

As “phil_m” mentioned in the post above, those effects have not changed in this update.

Also, did you reset your “Globals” from the backup which you made before the update?

If not, it may be worth doing, because something might have got messed up slightly after/during updating.

I've noticed this problem too, and it's not just the simple pitch, the new Poly Capo does the same thing.

I restored my Globals from the backup, but I never used the Pitch effects because they weren''t Poly.

Regardless, I don't see anything in Globals that might cause this.

My update was easy, and I've done a reset since then.

Interestingly, I tried recording it in Reaper. Even listening with Record Monitor ON, you hear it, BUT IT DOESN'T RECORD!

Only the pitch shifted sound records.

I messed with this for about an hour, using both the Helix and my Scarlett as AI, same results.

I'm baffled.

I was intrigued so tested this, but can't reproduce on my Helix.

I tried variax, variax mags, modelled variax through guitar in and mags through guitar in, simple pitch and poly capo and the mix worked as expected across all.

Existing patch and new patch.

All output tested using the XLRs.

Now that I think about it, I didn't test using the analog outs, only L6 Link to Powercab, S/PDIF through the Scarlett and USB to Reaper with Helix as AI ((the Reaper recordings I mentioned), so only the digital Outs. Well, I did try headphones from Helix, same result. I'll try the other analog outs tomorrow.

Tried the analog outs, same same.

Did factory resets on both my Floor and my Stomp. Setting up a simple test preset with just the Poly Capo and WhoWatt with all the factory defaults, same result on both devices.

Tried just using the out block set to XLR, straight to Powercab, L6 Link disconnected, same same, so no parallel paths involved.

Since this is the same on both devices, with all Factory Reset defaults, it would SEEM to be a 3.0 bug, but since many others have been singing praises of the Poly Capo, I just dunno.

I'll call support on Monday when they re-open, but in the meantime, if anybody has any suggestions, I'm open!

FIXED!
OK, I feel like an idiot. OTOH, I'm VERY HAPPY that it wasn't Helix.
My external routing is pretty complicated. I had somehow duplicated a signal path, which didn't show any symptoms until I introduced the Pitch Capo on one of them.
WHEW! What a PITA!

Yay, Good news for you, but do you think that this is the same thing which is happening to the OP?

Poly capo is a new thing, and the OP says the issue is in the older shifter, which should not have changed in the updated firmware.

Hard to say for sure, but I just replaced the Poly Capo in my test preset and, with mix at 100%, no problem.
