357mag
Was wondering if any of you have tried the method of recording where you are sending two tracks to your DAW, one track is the processed signal and the other track is dry and unprocessed. Then you take the Helix Native Plugin and put that on the dry, unprocessed track and add your amps and effects that way. If any of you have tried this please let me know how it turned out for you. rd2rk
Yes, it works great. TIPS: After recording I usually route the Dry track to another (or several) tracks with Native or some other VST loaded on the track. That way I get several different re-amped tracks to compare or combine. If you use WAH or Volume effects, or change presets or snapshots in different parts of the song, be sure to record a MIDI track. Then you can repeat the effects/changes in the re-amped tracks. Don't forget to enable Snapshot CC Send in Global>MIDI.

In Logic, I would then use Automation to turn the Helix Native effects on and off. If I were to use e.g. wahwah via expression pedal, I would also record the MIDI data.

I always do this, and that is almost everyday. It allows you to change your mind. You may think you have the perfect take, but in the rush to capture the audio you later realise that the delay or reverb is a little to prominent - it’s a simple fix. Or you can replay the performance through a completely different rig. Just note what the others have said about capturing MIDI data for Snapshots, Wah etc. Oh, yeah! Jason has a video covering both Native and hardware re-amping. Hope this helps/makes sense.
