adagosto
Hi. I figure it is what it is, but maybe there's a way.... I'm trying to set up a dual amp patch to simulate something like my Mesa Boogie or really any two-channel tube amp with a clean and dirty channel. So my patch would start with a compressor, then a clean amp (say the US Princess) then the dirty amp (take your pick), then a cab....now at this point I'm already pretty low on DSP and all I can add is a reverb OR delay OR a modulation. Is this just a limitation of the Stomp or is there a way to achieve this dual amp thing a different way and enable additional effects. I'm trying to enable stereo, but that's probably just a pipe dream. The only way I can find to get the "dual amp" thing is with a single amp and a pretty aggressive distortion pedal like a Rat. This works, but I was trying this with only amp models. Also, would the Helix Floor or LT have enough DSP to do this? Thanks!!!
DunedinDragon
The LT and Floor both have twice the DSP as the Stomp across two signal chains rather than just one, so there are many additional ways something like this can be done.
adagosto
Yes I'm aware of that. The question is, how can you achieve a similar effect with the Stomp? Is it only possible using a single clean amp and adding distortion pedals to it. Maybe there's one model out there that by itself can go from super clean to full on Plexi or Boogie or something else...
benriddell
Depending on the clean/dirty sound you're looking for you could try using just one amp that has the flexiblity to do both and switch between the two with snapshots Or maybe run a overdriven preamp only block into a clean amp block (or Amp & cab block combined), again switching the different sounds via snapshots

Hi, Steve Sterlacci has this video covering this subject. or check out this thread from way back before the Stomp. Hope this help/makes sense.
theElevators
If you have 1/2 the power of a Helix, you will need to learn to make certain compromises. You can consolidate things, and get rid of blocks you can replace with something else. Rather than using a distortion pedal, and an EQ pedal, you can change the settings on the amplifier block--that way you just saved some DSP. Every parameter of a block is assignable to snapshots. That means that when you change your snapshot, you can conjure different sounds out of the same amp block. The best thing is that one amp block can produce many different sounds, e.g. clean, clean lead, dirty, dirty lead. You can change the parameters of any bock in the snapshots, in our example, you can change the gain, volume, and lows/mids/highs of the amp within the same preset, for different snapshots. adagosto
I think I found my solution. Ventoux!!! I pretty much can get all the way from super clean to reasonably fat distortion without any help.
