funkyeah
Hi, I have 2 MIDI cables plugged into a stomp and MC6. What I would like to do is select a preset on the stomp and it’s correlating bank will activate on the MC6. The way I organized presets is basically Fender/miscellaneous/plexiglass, each focused on the same mod or filter. What that means is I’d like those 3 separate presets to all trigger the same PC message so my MC6’s name cards for each button matches. instead what’s happening is 01A is triggering bank 1 on MC6, 02A is triggering bank 2. Is there a way in the stomp to change what PC message is sent to a connected midi device? Or is it stuck to its order of PC?
rd2rk
Global Settings>MIDI/Tempo>MIDI PC Tx = OFF This prevents sending the default PC when you change Presets.

But how do I get it to change the banks on my MC6 if the PC Tx is off?
funkyeah
The reason I want to do this is I use my MC6 kind of like a pedalboard, each button turns on the mod/od/boost/amp sim. I don’t want to preset change on MC6 because id have to toggle through and it would change presets every time I toggled up
rd2rk
Use a FS or SS IC to send the desired MC6 Bank Change PC. The MIDI PC Tx only affects the sending of the default PC, not PCs assigned in Command Center.

Not intending to steal this thread from “rd2rk”, but that “SS IC” is a shorthand acronym for Snap Shot Instant Command. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hope this helps/makes sense. I don’t normally use snapshot mode though. I just leave it in preset mode so it displays 01A, 01B, and 01C. Morningstar got back to me and said there’s a way to do what I want in the Morningstar editor apparently. ”The valid PC numbers for the MC6 is PC#0 to PC#29, which will recall Banks 1 - 30 respectively. You can't change what PC numbers are assigned to each bank. But you could use the MIDI Message Converter feature to convert the incoming PC message to a different PC number before it gets processed by the MC6. However, you can only convert up to 16 messages. Here's an example where an incoming PC#42 message will be converted to PC#5 at the Input (before it gets processed) so you can use the PC#42 to recall Bank 6:
PierM
I do the same thing between my Stomp and Empress Zoia, using the command center, and sending a Bank/Prog message at each preset load. This will link each Stomp preset to a specific patch in the Zoia, without being forced to respect the sorting in the preset list. Bank/Prog Knob Parameter Description 2 MIDI Ch Sets the Bank/Program message's MIDI channel (1-16). When set to "Base", Helix follows the Global MIDI channel, which is set from the "Global Settings > MIDI/Tempo" page. 3 Bank CC00 Sets the CC#00 (Bank MSB) value. Select "Off" if the receiving device shouldn't respond to Bank MSB. 4 Bank CC32 Sets the CC#32 (Bank LSB) value. Select "Off" if the receiving device shouldn't respond to Bank LSB. 5 Program Sets the Program Change (PC) value. Select "Off" if you only want to send a Bank MSB and/or Bank LSB message.
