Compatibility of patches between products

I am currently using a POD HD500x.  I am enjoying it.  I'm wondering if any other product patches are compatible with it?  For example, if I got the PODxt, could I load the same patches on it for personal practice?  Or if I tweak patches on the PODxt, would I be able to load them back onto my 500x?  i'm considering getting a Helix, but I don't want to recreate every patch I have done on my 500x.  Nor do I want to maintain the patches on both devices.  I realize they all behave a little differently and will likely need tweaking anyway.  I guess I'm just looking for the lazy guitarist's approach!  :-)

Patches are generally not compatible between different product families. So you can’t load POD XT presets into your POD HD500X. Nor are POD HD product patches compatible with any Helix devices. Depending on DSP limitations and routing/dual path capabilities most simple POD HD family presets are compatible, or can be made compatible using a file converter utility developed by a forum user many moons ago. I don’t know if it’s still kicking around somewhere. For instance, you could convert a Pod HD500X preset to be compatible with a Pod HD ProX device and vice versa.

You can’t import a POD HD500X preset into any Helix device.

Speaking for many of the lazy guitarists on here, it would be nice if there were some cross device compatibility but apparently there is not.  I had posted a while back hoping for such asking about if I upgraded from my current POD HD 500X to the POD GO.  Again, it was a negative response.  There was a conversion utility available a couple years back but I do't know what it convert from and to.

I know it has the word Pod in it, but the Go is a Helix, not a Pod.

The post is still there, pinned to the top.

It works with:

HD 300

HD 400

HD 500

HD 500x

HD Desktop

HD Pro

HD Pro X
