VioletaCasaubon
hi. when i connect the pod go main out left to the speakers only the left one works. when i connect the phones output to the speaker both works, but i want to connect it from the main out. this isnt a DAW stereo/mono problem because it happens when im not connected to the pc as well. thank you very much! silverhead
Yes, the main out L jack is a mono signal. Use both L and R outputs for stereo.
grdGo33
Think you should be able to use also the 'Main Out'. On the Left, it does specify mono, but the right has no mention of mono, so should be able to output stereo? Unless like silverhead said, the Go Right channel is also mono, and L6 expects users to use 2 cables to use the Main Out for stereo... (as a workaround; phones for TRS / stereo cable ...) Yeah I think silverhead is correct... :\
VioletaCasaubon
thank you very much!! i will try that
silverhead
To be precise, the L/Mono output carries only the L channel of the stereo signal when used with the R output. When used alone it carries both L and R channels summed to mono. The R output always carries only the R channel.
pederlyng
A cable with a TRS jack in one end and splitted into two TS jacks will only carry the left channel when connected to main L/Mono output. Maybe this is what VioletaCasaubon experiences ?
Rickkit
The TRS 1/4" outputs are for "Balanced" output (XLR) and not for stereo like the "Phones" unbalanced output... When you plug into the right and left mains outputs with TRS cables it sends the left and right stereo balanced outputs to a mixer 2ea channel inputs (panned L&R)/ 2ea (L&R) FRFR speakers/2ea (L&R) audio interface inputs... If you just plug into the left mains output with a TRS plug it will send both left and right balanced signal summed down to mono... So you have to use with both left and right balanced outputs together - or a TRS 1/4 cable will suffice using the "Phones" unbalanced output... The "Amp Out" is a 1/4" TS unbalanced L&R summed mono output also... So the only stereo TRS unbalanced output is the "Phones" output... The only purpose of the TRS cable on the mains output is to deliver a "Balanced" output vs a TS cable's "Unbalanced" output - TRS does not get you "Stereo"... EDIT: It would have been a lot less confusing if Line 6 had just made to "Main Outputs" XLR instead of 1/4" TRS, but the TRS works just like an XLR if you use the 1/4" TRS to XLR adapter cable that are readily available... "Balanced is for longer cable runs to the mixer/snake etc without added noise...

"Balanced is for longer cable runs to the mixer/snake etc without added noise... There's also a "1/4" XLR Combo Jack Connector" connector whichallows both XLR & 1/4 TRS... I think that 1/4 jack is more common on cheaper equipment than XLR, so likely a better match for budget PGO... To add to the confusion, "A TRS cable can carry either a balanced audio signal or a stereo audio signal, depending on what audio output you connect the cable to" https://www.swamp.net.au/balanced-stereo-trs-cable.html https://producerhive.com/buyer-guides/accessories/ts-vs-trs-cables/ From the Pod Go manual: So yeah, as you stated, not super clear from text/manual, but for Pod Go specifically, not designed to output Stereo from either Main Out TS/TRS outputs. With other devices, YMMV. ("not super clear", actually, doesn't say <Stereo> on either, so maybe that makes it clear that since it's "L/MONO" & RIGHT, it's not "R/STEREO", so excludes the Stereo.. The FX LOOP output does specify SEND (STEREO).. Yep, logical!)
pederlyng
I am fully aware how the main outputs work - i just draw attention to the fact that when you connect a TRS jack to the main out left/mono output, the TS carries the summed signal, and the TR is silent. If the thread starter has used a split cable (as I tried to at first) this could explain why one channel is silent ...
theElevators
For me if I plug only one cable into left/mono mains, it is always the left side, never summed IF something is plugged into the headphone jack. When I remove a cable from the headphone jack, left/mono starts summing the signal correctly. Plug something into the headphone jack back, and the weird behavior is back. Make that make sense... I was going crazy this morning... because I'm building my presets in stereo... but also need them to work in mono. But what I was hearing in mono was not actually mono, but the left channel only and it sounded way off.
