Fret model on JTV59 ?

Recommended Posts

I know they are Jumbo frets. I don’t know if there’s an industry standard reference for that term.

EDIT: actually the FAQ says this about the JTV59: “22 medium-jumbo frets and dot inlays”.

Personally I found the factory frets too high. I’m not a light touch player; I press the strings down to the fretboard and with the Jumbo frets this would detune the string. First thing I did was swap out the frets.

All Variax guitars have Jescar 57110 frets.

Upside for a luthier is that when working, leveling and round frets, there's enough material to work with.

smaller frets wear down to where you can't work them anymore. Then you have to re-fret, or swap out

the neck,... if it's a bolt-on neck.

Down side is that Jescar 57110 is a bit much.

I'm fine with anything, I adapt, so I'm comfortable with whatever it is.
