rnrfantasy
Hi all, I'm brand new to Helix world, and really Line 6. I just got mine hooked up...set to "Line" using 2 JBL monitors. I've noticed that certain presets don't make any sounds...a good number of them actually. I've tested the volume on everything so that's not the issue. Expression pedal is at 100%. Also, does it take some a bit to load? I'm used to wait for programs like Superior Drummer to load presets, but as I mentioned Helix and amp modeling is largely new to me. Thanks for any help! silverhead
It should only take a few milliseconds for any preset to load, so that’s not the issue. Are you talking about Factory presets? If not, where did the silent presets originate? Check the settings for the Input and Output blocks in the silent presets and make sure they match the physical input and outputs you are using. You could also try using headphones; are they silent there as well? 1
rnrfantasy
Yeah, just the presets loaded already when you open the box. I'll try headphones and checking the settings...will report back! Thanks!
silverhead
Try moving the expression pedal. The internal setting can be different from the physical position. The pedal can physically be at 100% while the internal setting is 0%. WARNING! Lower the volume before you move the expression pedal.

When seeking assistance from other users it's a big help to know EXACTLY which presets you are referring to and on what hardware. For example on my Helix floor unit Factory 1 Setlist starts with 01A US Double Nrm If you could clarify which particular presets are giving you problems, it will be easier if we know which ones to check. I'm a little concerned that you also say the presets are taking some time to load. That simply should not be happening. Scrolling through presets on my Helix, loads each preset in milliseconds - it's almost instantaneous. My best guess, without any further information, is that your hardware device needs a Factory Reset, this will put it back into a "box fresh" state. Check here for the various reset options for different Helix products. https://helixhelp.com/tips-and-guides/universal/reset-options Hope this helps/makes sense.
Joepeggio
Also. It depends on how the preset is routed. Meaning if it's designed for 4 cable method, it will have a break in the signal path. Best the go to user1, new preset and start building, learn the output symbols (1/4, XLR, USB etc..) Imagine it like a real amp and pedal board. Start with amp/cab make it sound good. Add a pedal before some after and so on.. HAVE FUN! Lots of help here and facebook group. rnrfantasy
Seems like everything is working now after I updated the firmware. It was on 3.60 but now I have 3.71. Thanks all!
brue58ski
Watch what exactly your inputs and outputs are. That's caught me a couple of times. So many options it's easy to miss the obvious.
